	Folks, Looking at a few options for compressors on Amazon, need something for a few air tools like DA sander, impact wrench, cutter and possibly some paint work... The 150L Wolf is a good bit more expensive, not sure if the additional 60L would be worth the extra expense. Any thoughts or guidance would be gratefully appreciated !! Best regards, Peter.

	My advice - buy a quality make secondhand in preference to a Wolf - which are Chinese. Personally I've a belt drive Abac and a world apart to Wolf. In fact I reckon it's better than my previous Ingersol Rand ! Tools, especially DA sander, take a lot of air so the bigger the tank the better.

	Hi, as said DA sanders are air hungry, so 14 CFM is good and you really need 100 litres as a minimum, but 150 is better. I don't how long you intend keeping it but direct drive is noisy but not only that it's difficult to repair in the event of a breakdown. Separate units make for easier repair or substitution. Plus they will have a higher residual value if you want to move it on. If you can turn the cut out pressure down to 100 psi, this gives the compressor an easier and longer life and enough for an impact gun to work properly. Colin

	Get an electric DA. The compressor will kick in after about 30 seconds use and will remain on until you stop! Even 3hp 150lt 10cfm units are a ball ache. Not to mention the need to constantly drain the moisture from the tank

	I can only echo the above - You'd need a mega compressor to keep up with any kind of air sander - If you can run it off a normal 13a plug then it won't anywhere near run a DA, but a fairly modest one will comfortably run an impact gun and probably a spray gun. I tried an air DA on my 75 litre compressor and it seemed to somehow use more air than just having a totally open pipe, Obviously that's not possible, but it was usable for about 10 seconds before the pressure was noticeably too low to run it properly.

	Bought myself a Sealey 100lt/2hp unit a couple of years ago, super quiet as it's a belt drive. Only ever used it once to practice spraying an MX5 bootlid then realised I'd never be a sprayer in my wildest dreams. Still sitting in my shed if you're interested??

	My burisch 100lt off eBay is really quiet and although it does start up after a shirt time using the free da that came with it the compressor still runs it for as long as I like.

	I have a wolf I use for spraying and general work. They are cheap and you get what you pay for. They are identical to Clarke ones from Machine Mart. Great if you just need a cheap basic jobbie, but if you need serious air supply take the advice above. I'm happy with mine as it does what I need it for, so you pays your money and takes your choice. Re sanders, electric makes more sense.

I hope you don't expect to run that off a normal 13 amp plug & socket It's going to need a dedicated circuit with decent sized cable as normal 2.5mm won't be sufficient even if you have a high rated breaker in the circuit box. Unlesss you know what you are doing please seek advice of an electrician to avoid overloading (and invalidating your insurance in the event of a fire if inadequate wiring)

	Sound advice... the garage has a separate breaker panel which is hooked into the main panel via a 32 amp breaker. I'll install a dedicated 20 amp MCB for the compressor and appropriate cabling.
