Hi guys
Lately it has been hitting me how unpractical this car is now I have two kids, even as a car to go out in with my little one its still not ideal as the 4 point harnesses don't work great with a kids seat lol!
1985 Trans Am Firebird
305 Chevy small block with TPI injection (220BHP)
MOT for about another 8 months
2 previous owners in UK
car shows 95k on the clock which going by the condition and the fact the floor has only just been welded , i can believe
Car has had.......
2 new front tyres,
Front Discs and Pads
Rear pads
Hand Brake Cables
Front Brake Hoses
Dizzy Cap
Rotor Arm
Plugs
Leads
02 Sensor
Inlet Gaskets
New Injectors (all 8 costing £350)
4 point harness mounted to original GM seatbelt mount points
new rad cap
New Thermostat and housing to be fitted
Electric windows, cruise control, PAS, TH700R4 Gearbox, 2 Ways Posi Diff (Borg Warner 9 bolt 3.45 FD)
the car averages 17MPG around town but does 26mpg on a run
The car was originally burgundy but due to it being many different shades I painted it satin black, the car will come with the standard wheels, the ones pictured are still currently available but i didnt like the offset on them and they scrubbed on the front inner arches.
The engine runs well and always starts, it could do with a new header tank as it isnt quite holding pressure. It never overheats etc but sometimes bubbles due to the pressure.
I have covered about 1500 miles in it and never been broke down. It really turns heads and is LOUD (this is due to the exhaust finishing just behind the axle and having no silencers)
I don't really want to get rid but I know I will never get the chance to use it as I was hoping and something with more seats would be helpful.
To fit the 4 point harnesses I removed the rear seat bases but these are still at my house and would come with the car (rear seat belts not present)
The gearbox has developed a fault and has been diagnosed and possible clutch failure within the box, rebuild kits are £150-180 from Real Steel. I just don't have the time/money to invest in it any more
Many Thanks
Jim , Dorset
