My next door neighbour of 30+ years (the village vicar - really) has a Rover 25 and I rather like the shape. I was thinking yesterday about a pity they didn't make a cabriolet version as a MG ZR version would have been a cheaper alternative to Golf.
Accepted they have flaws (K Series !) but so did a lot of other BL cars which we now regard as classics such as Marina, Allegro, Maxi, Mini, Minor.
Anyway no Rover 25 convertibles but there was the Rover 100 & 200.
Anyone owned one of them and what are the aspects to inspect that are different to the car versions ? Obviously condition of hood but do the rust / rot worse than the tin tops ?
My Marlin Roadster is a long term project and health issues means I can't easily get in and out of it at present so I'm tempted by a 100 or 200 as a fun car in the mean time. They must be some of the cheapest 4 seater cabriolets around so are almost "throw away" when you finish with them sort of money.
