Following the other threads here of new acquisitions... I have just recently made one of my own. I now am the proud owner of my 4th Alfa, this time a 1985 Alfa 33 Green Cloverleaf.
I couldn't turn it down, it was an absolute bargain....... set me back the princely sum of $200 with a new WOF and reg til next year, done 183km.
Looks pretty good in that photo (only one I got... damn battery ran out) but the pain has a couple of iffy bits, the bonnet is faded to hell, and theres 2 small primer patches on it.
The owner had bodgied some 4x100 steelies to fit the 4x98 stud pattern, luckily I had the Alfa 13s sitting in the shed, so a quick trip to see slow_motion at tyre city saw me with a newish pair of 185s (for a great price!) and the two good ones off the steelies swapped onto the alloys.
When I took the wheels off, I was surprised to see a pair of Koni yellow adjustable shocks in the rear, and a 2" exhaust system. It sounds great!
Engine is strong, not noisy at all, doesnt blow any smoke, it is however running a tad hot so I think a thermostat check and/or the fan switch might need attention. Did the standard oil/filter/coolant/plug chang. Also it is in dire need of a LH tie rod end, which I think I have kicking around somewhere in my piles of Alfa junk. A couple of minor (typical) Italian electrical issues and it'l be fantastic!
Roll on the resale... I'm gunning for around 600-800.
Oh yeah.... I LOVE the plate! How conincidental is that???!!!!!
