I know there was a thread about these yesterday but I can't get to it.....I also don't know if this came up in that thread! Here's a photo of one I took at the Austin Centenery at Longbridge in '05 So there's at least one in the country ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) ![](http://usera.imagecave.com/sethke/Car_photos/AustinCentenery01.JPG)

was it factory or has it been modded? One sold on 'bay in January, the description from that ad might answer the quation BMC built the 1800 in this pickup form in Australia purely for the Australasian market between 1968 and 1971. It was never built or sold in Britain and only 2331 of these pickups were built which makes them very rare even in Australia. According to the Land Crab Owners Club there are only about 30 examples left on the road in Australia.
This Ute was built at the BMC factory in New South Wales and exported new to New Zealand where it was registered to its first owner in December 1969. ... it is now still believed to be one of only five in the UK.For info, it was H reg, mid-blue (Teal? Navy?) with white roof ![8-)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/cool.png) I have a couple of pics on my pc - any easy way to upload them direct or do I need to go through Photo-Bucket first ![???](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/huh.png)

I think more decommissioned hearses should be turned into pick-ups where possible, it's a sensible modification even if you do end up with a very tall cab.

You might even get away with on a hearse, a lot of them from the 80's onwards have fiberglass rear bodywork so you could argue its not structural.

Volvo back as my main squeeze, more boost and some interior goodies on the way.
