As I am advertising this for a friend, it’s on my drive so it would be quite nice to try and sell it with relatively little hassle (EBay muppets etc) and sooner rather than later.
Also as such I am more then happy to answer any questions and supply endless amounts of photos if your serious so we don't waste each others time by the car not being what you want.
BMW 840 CI
Looking for a new home is this high spec Barbados green BMW 840 CI Sport. This car is part of a small private collection which is now slowly being sold off due to a bereavement 3 years ago, one at a time.
Positive points
• Mileage is 119310 which I feel is low for the year and vehicle type
• Stamped service book until 18-11-2009 ( showing 116,976 miles)
• Electric seats, cruise control, heated front seats, rear blind etc which is quite rare for these
• Body work is in good order with the only rust being evident on the sunroof panel itself not the roof
• Mechanically in good order
• MOT September 2016
• With the exception of those listed below all the electrics works
• Prior to being stored the vehicle had a new radiator, water pump, tyres and brakes
Negative points
• The lower front splitter has been repaired previously due to a slightly enthusiastic recovery man(when the radiator emptied the water onto the car park)
• The driver’s seat requires TLC as the bottom bolster has come away and the height adjustment does not work( all other functions work fine)
• The rear blind works but requires a little help to go back down, I suspect it just needs using/lightly oiling
• The Cruise control has been disconnected.
• The front wheels could do with balancing.
It has been in storage for the past 3-4 years and was presented for the MOT only failing on a few light bulbs, it has since been driven back to my house and is waiting for a new owner. The garage who MOT the car have estimated it would need around £400-£450 to correct the front spoiler and the slight bubbles on the sunroof and I would assume the seat would cost about the same to fix if you were paying a specialist. For the above reasons the car is advertised at the price it is rather than £10k+ which dealers are asking for similar cars, so someone has the opportunity to buy a nice running BMW 840 Sport which requires minor jobs rather than major ones.
Viewing is welcomed and the car is just north of Milton Keynes, offers will be considered by serious buyers so don't be shy.
