Ok, so I've made a stupid mistake. Originally, I prepped my car over months, sorted issues, got a smooth finish, primered, wet sanded and painted satin black. Job's a goodun. Finish was great, no problems.
Enter the problem.
I damaged a part of the body a day before a show i was supposed to go to. I gave it a quick repair and blast which stood out like a sore thumb. In a fit of stupidity, and a longing to have a uniform finish (with the long term plan of repainting anyway) i grabbed a piece of sandpaper (80 grit!) and hit the whole car.
I know. I want thinking. I was also fed up at the time.
Anyway, cut to many months later and i thought I'd have a go at prepping it. Obviously there are deep scratches all over it, i used 240 grit to try and even it out but it barely touched it. Made the door feel smooth to the touch and shot it with a coupe of layers of zinc primer but the scratches are very visible and it's not suitible for any paint at all.
What I'm getting at here is.... anyone got any suggestions? Nitro Mors? Many layers of primer and a wet sand? Maybe hit the whole car with zinc primer then layer upon layer of cheap primer, wet sanded between coats? Mojo on its death bed....
