So because of the way the racing calendar and hillclimb calendar work out next year our previously set date for The Gathering has been moved ... so it looks like we'll be on Sunday 28th August (instead of 14th as planned (and printed :/ )). We've always avoided bank holiday weekends, figuring people had better things to do... now obviously we know there is nothing better to do than come to Retro Rides Gathering, but will your family and friends need convincing? Give us your feedback to help us work out if it will work.

depends on whether it's raining or not really Actually, makes no difference to me as long as the main day is still a Sunday. I can always get Sundays off work but can't necessarily get a Bank Holiday off, ironically

The biggest potential problem I see is that there is soooo much happening on August Bank holiday. Everywhere!! Not an issue for me personally, because I literally plan my year around RRG, but others (particularly some of the day visitors?) may already have other priorities (misguided fools) which could lead to a dilution of the variety we've all grown to love?!
That said, I'm already planning new things for next year's event so won't bother me either way.
At the end of the day, you can only do it when you can do it!

No problems for our lot, probably better as I could have used the Monday off to recover this year.

I'm not the first person to vote 'no', but seem to be the first commenter:
August Bank holiday is always a chance to get away for family hols and sneak a week's break for 4 days leave. Persuading the wife to forego that will be way more difficult than a random day/weekend away.

Potentially works better for us as it makes it easier to have a family camping weekend somewhere nearby with a visit to the show on the Sunday.

Bank Holiday works for me. RRG goes in the calendar before anything else anyway and it would be good not to have to think aboout getting back on the Sunday as it always means I leave earlier than I'd like to (4 hour drive, and like to leave the potential breakdown/recovery buffer in and still be in a relatively fit state for Monday morning).
As long as we can camp for another night.......

Worcestershire is a lovely part of the country, suitable for a holiday... oh look there is a car show on Sunday... This is our main worry to be honestly, family commitments and as @dawson points out clashing with festivals.

Bank holiday is fine for me and the boy. Another nights camping would be preferred as it would make life a lot easier.
It would also mean that we could organise some site cleanup crews on the Monday with no pressure of missing anything.

If I come, depending on what I own at the time, a Sunday on a bank holiday weekend is near to perfect.
The idea of the long drive home, and being able to relax with a beer on Sunday evening late on and not having to get up for work on Monday is very appealing.
