*these wheels are not the current ones
*these wheels are not the current ones
*these wheels are not the current ones
*battery is now in the boot
Only real bad points are a few things i never got round to doing
*Speedo not connected - have original cable for the clocks just never got round to making it fit the type 9 feed.
*Head unit is tempermental speakers sometimes don't work in dash - probably a loose wire.
*Fan is on a dash switch rather than thermostat, never bothered me as fan it all the time,(big engine in small space anyway). It only ever goets hot on the temp gauge in heavy traffic, its cut out on me a few times vapour locking in 30 mins of traffic but waiting 2 mins or removing the line to the carb and reconnecting instantly clears it. Thats about the only recurring issue ive had in over 4 years of ownership!
*Back of passenger sill is solid but has been patched a couple of times in its life. Doesnt require immediate attention just doesnt look as solid as the rest of the car. All other areas have including front wings off areas are rock solid. Its really amazing how solid it is.
*brakes do work ok but would benefit from a servo - again it was on the todo list.
It was magazine featured by practical performance cars last year - if you don't like attention in everyday trips to the shops etc then this probably isnt the car for you. Its also a real handful in the wet... RWD awesomeness...
Dep-o also ran a feature on it in 2013 www.dep-o.co.uk/features/hardly-substandard/
Insurance costs me around £150 all mods declared and is tax and mot exempt.
ive probably forgotten loads, reason for sale is upcoming house purchase - toy culls are never fun For that reason not interested in a swap.
Its a lovely solid aged looking rat rod mobile
