It's with a heavy heart I have to do this, but lack of space means I have to!
Up for sale is my 1991 Mitsubishi GTO automatic. Car is completely standard down to the original radio, with the exception of a 6CD changer in the boot, a Blitz delimiter to remove the 180kph restriction, and a conversion to mph using 3000GT clocks at the time of import (1998). Exterior is in good condition with no rust, as is the interior. Fires up first time and has never let me down, recent water pump change, cambelt is in good condtion and the car has generally been very well looked after. All the usual GTO bits (4WS, air con, LSD at the rear etc.)
Bad bits:
Engine has lifter tick, not very noticeable when warm but a very common problem on the 1st and 2nd gen GTOs, 3rd gen lifters cure the issue and can be had for around £50 for a set of 24 from 3sxwarehouse.
Gearbox is only engaging 1-2-3. Went to clean the valve body and the pressure relief ball bearing and spring fell out. I have video instructions on how to reinstall this. Car is drivable but will not engage 4th or OD due to this. May be able to reinstall this if anyone is seriously interested in the car.
PO hit something and damged the bumper slightly, O/S foglight glass is broken, and bumper could do with a respray due to lacquer peel.
2p sized in O/S quarter when the garage door swung into it. Some minor scratches/ scuffs here and there.
ECS works until you hit a bump or pothole, and then car reverts into sport mode. Believed to be one of the struts, can link instructions for testing the struts.
In all, a good all-round car which just needs a bit of love and attention, a weekend or two worth of work would sort this car out and get her up to her former glory. I just don't have the time to get this car done. Car is not MOTed but I have every faith it will pass, last MOT only had 1 advisory (N/S/F CV gaitor).
£1000, car is in Palmers Green.
Any questions feel free to ask.
