Hi, everyone. I bought this MK2 Scamp off Ebay a couple of weeks ago. It came with loads of parts, a few of which I have sold already to make some money back. Overall it is in good condition but it does need a little bit of welding underneath as a length of box section is rotten. I have begun stripping it down and getting the frame back to bare metal ready for some paint. All of the external panels have been removed along with the subframe and suspension components. It's looking a bit sorry for itself at the moment especially since these photos were taken as even more parts have been stripped from it. The plan is to use the parts from my Mini which includes a 1310 engine, new suspension components, electrics and brakes. Thanks for looking. More to come.

Good work there, I haven't touched my Scamp for for nearly a year now ! The trailing arm mount tube on mine is in a bit of a state, ruaty and bent so it will have to have a whole new tube I think.

It's much easier to replace the whole tube, that's what I did for the more severe rust. lift makes life handier well done Luckily, I have access to 2 lifts. Definitely made the prep and paint much easier.

I'm on the Scamp forum as well although it doesn't seem like anyone else is ! Did you get the tube from Hub Le Bas in the end ?
I must get on with mine but still haven't built a shed to work on it in yet, too busty fixing the daily drivers.

I ended up getting it online and delivered for a decent price, ordered some aluminium sheet as well. The Scamp forum is very quiet at the moment, that's why I have joined this one as well. I used to be on here years ago but couldn't find my old account.

I needed a lot so the online places were a bit expensive. There seemed to be a fair amount of Facebook activity but the club page but it seems to have gone over the last few days not sure why, no bad thing in some ways.

Did this a couple of weeks ago, took the frame back to bare metal and painted. I then fitted the floors using tigerseal and rivets. This picture is before I added the rivets because by the time I was finished, it was too dark for a picture.

I did some more work today on the Scamp, mainly stripping more paint and yet more rivets. Paint stripper doind its thing. The paint stripper can get where the grinder can't. Also managed the get the sides of the chassis painted, ready for the external panels.

I painted more of the frame today, the majority of it is does except for the front end. Also managed to do a bit more prep work of other parts.

I'm still going with this project but I lost motivation towards the end of the year because of the cold weather and my unit roof falling apart. I've moved units now and used a big van to move the scamp. More updates coming soon as I've progressed with the build and taken a few more pictures.

Found a couple of pictures from the original eBay advert, looks a little different now. So much stuff came with the car and I struggled to fit it all onto the recovery truck.

I've cleaned up and riveted in the gearbox tunnel onto the floor. A lot of holes needed to be drilled for this as that's where most of the new metal was welded in. I've also started prepping the floor ready for etch primer.
