Part of my private classic car collection, superb condition inside and out, completely rust free and has had additional rust proofing.
Original hard-top and soft-top in good condition.
Smooth V8 engine and automatic gearbox, drives as it should, 3 bar oil pressure on start up and 2 bars once warmed up, just had new oil and filters. These M119 engines are good for 300k miles and the 4 speed automatic gearboxes go on forever. This is a pre-electronics age car; no EML, no catalyst converters, no Lambda sensors, no SRS... not much to go wrong. It's fast; 0-60 in 5.8secs and limited to 155MPH. MPG is reasonable, mid 20s driving around and low 30s on a gentle run.
Stunning bodywork, no rust, dents or scratches, looks great in the photographs and even better in the metal, 18 inch alloy wheels with four new tyres and matching spare wheel.
Rear seats with safety belts, expensive DAB radio/CD/MP3 player with upgraded speakers, original complete toolkit, first aid kit and warning triangle, full specification including leather heated electrically operated seats, climate control and all electric features work as they should.
2 original keys / fobs, both work.
Car was brought from a dealer in Swindon last year on the basis that it had a full service history. The dealer promised to send the logbook and history file, which wasn't available to view at the time of purchase as the seller (a friend of the garage owner) was ill in hospital. A few weeks later the logbook arrived with the previous owner's details withheld (retained by DVLA). I called the dealer about the service history but was told that the previous owner had passed away and the family will pass on the documents. To date I haven't received anything. It is obvious that this car has had a pampered life but I don't have the paperwork to prove it. , I have MoT history dating back to 2007 and the odd receipt, but not the whole package. If bits of paper mean more to you than a tidy car than this SL is not for you.
Climate control.
Electric, heated, leather seats.
Electric windows.
Electric mirrors.
Electric internal mirror - yep, you don't have to raise your arm to adjust the rear view mirror!
Central locking, fob operated.
Electric roll bar.
Electric roof.
Cruise control.
ABS.
ASR (traction control).
Active ride (includes self-levelling).
Pioneer DEH-X6500 DAB head unit.
Vibe Blackair 6C-V1 2 way component speakers (fitted behind original speaker grilles).
Original electric aerial. I fitted a switch under the dashboard so that the aerial stays down when playing CDs / MP3s / listening to DAB radio.
And everything works!
As far as SWAPs are concerned, let me know what you've got. I love most classics but would love a camper, but am open to ideas cash either way, try me.
Fully comp insurance is less than £200, road tax is just over £20 a month. This is cheap motoring and this car will not depreciate any further.

Why buy a 280/300/320 when you can have a V8 500?
