I'm selling this iconic Land Rover Series 2.
Registered in October 1960 it's a 1961 model year, so one of the last Series 2's.
It appears to be a genuine Series 2 not the more common 2a. As you probably know Series 2's were only made from 1958-61 where as 2a's were from 1961-71. I've taken photos of some of the original features exclusive to this model. Flat top radiator appears to be dated 1960.
That said, it's an old Land Rover and has many repairs and parts replaced over the years! It has most recently been used on a farm so wasn't MOT'd for a couple of years but I've had it running and the clutch and brakes all seem to work fine. That said I would not advise you to drive it any distance until it at least was given a good check over.
Ideally it could do with a full strip down and re-build but equally you could probably have it MOT'd after a weekend's work and improve it over time if you don't mind a bit of patina!
The chassis number relates to a petrol model but the vehicle has had a 2.25 diesel fitted as I believe it was used on the farm with red diesel.
Has the desirable 'Safari' roof fitted and a couple of old bench seats in the back. I probably have some of the parts here needed to refit the original front seats also if needed.
Currently on a suffix A plate so the original has probably been sold as a cherished number but it is possible to request an age related plate (3x3) via the DVLA free of charge. V5C has been applied for.
£1995. but will listen to offers.
Viewing highly recommended and encouraged.
