Hey guys, I've just joined. Only really been looking at the moment but I'm thinking on signing up to a classic car trackday at Cadwell Park in my MGB. Do you recon a standard MG will be up for it? Anyone else do trackdays? Ill do a post introducing myself in a bit Cheers

If it's a convertible, check whether they will let you on the track without a roll bar. Usually the answer is no.

Brakes is the main thing to worry about.

re convertible, you'll probably need a full face helmet also no shorts or short sleeves, check out any FAQs for the circuit.
Take any tuition that's available and mainly enjoy yourself and don't get caught up in to trying too hard.
If it's open pit short stints are probably better, to allow things (including you) to cool off. New, harder, brake pads and better fluid is a good idea.

Cheers guys, I have spoke to MSV who are running it and they said it will be fine, its a GT so has got a roof. Is anyone else going? its on 3rd September, only £69 so why not! I will look into some better brake pads and fluid later, it barely stops on the road haha

Bloody hell that's cheap, full day open pit?
I'm at Cadwell on Monday in my Nova, not sure it's old enough for a classics day though.

Its open pit lane but its evening so get 2.5 hours track time. I think its pre-95 but worth checking with them first. I'm going along with a couple of mates who have a escort and another MG all standard. Recon there's going to be some really nice cars there.

Ah about regular price for an evening session. I'm paying 150 for a full day 9-5.

Last time i was going there, i was all paid up and prepped, but broke my foot jumping a flight of concrete steps on a free-running fail two days before the day.. That was a Club GTi event. Got quite a few opportunities over the autumm i need to look into.. www.cadwellpark.co.uk/trackdays/car-calendar.aspx

Gutted that I can't go along to this anymore!!! Cant get the day off work. me and my mates are going to try and get a group of us down for either a Snetterton, Donington or Brands Hatch date instead before the "summer" is over!

That sucks, I had a whale of a time at Cadwell on Monday.
I'm also looking at Snetterton next, then a Blyton day and maybe sneak in a Donington day before Christmas!
