A few years ago Retro Rides organised a little outing to the Classic Banger Day at Hednesford Hills Raceway, a day sadly marred by the devastating death of Banger racer David Weare in an accident during the meeting Final. Thankfully the meeting has been revived under slightly different racing rules (now Pre-1979) and the new name of Classic Crash Cavalcade, and alongside the Banger racing there is going to be a classic road car display and on-track parade around the oval. If you have a classic car that you would like to show off and parade around Europe's fastest quarter-mile oval, bring it along on Sunday 27th September. Simply turn up on the day and we will allow the classic car and the driver in free of charge, so long as you bring a full paying passenger. There is no need to book for this, but if it's going be something extra special, we would like to know about it in advance! You can email the promotion at Info@incarace.co.uk, call them on 0121 357 7328 or contact them via the website at www.incarace.co.uk and via a Facebook event page here - www.facebook.com/events/782405691857197/Hope to see a few star RR cars present at the event, all being well I will be doing the PA commentary once again so it'd be nice to hear from any of you who are planning to make the trip. Dave Goddard Commentator, Hednesford Hills Raceway.

Took a trip to Hednesford for a meeting last year, amazing track unlike any other oval in the UK.
I'll see if a few Foxhall Stadium regulars fancy a road trip, about a 2 hour drive from Ipswich if the A14 behaves itself.

Seems rude not to with people travelling from far afield!

Just had an update from the promoter...
1979 is just around the corner and that’s our next stop. Hednesford Hills Raceway goes back to the way we were on Sunday 27th September with the Pre-79 Crash Cavalcade. A day dedicated to classic cars and heritage of British Hot Rod and Banger Racing. We will have the most stunning formula that Incarace has to offer – the Classic Hot Rods; a formula full of racing history. In the class you can see Mk 1 & Mk 2 Ford Escorts, Ford Anglias, Austin A40s and Vauxhall Viva.
We also have Pre-79 National Bangers which have been split into three classes.
The Unders includes engine sizes up to a maximum of 1725cc including all of the ‘Rootes Group Car with an exception of the Maxi 1750. Ford Cortina Mk 1 & Mk 2 models can compete, but later marks and Capris must compete in the Middle Class.
The Middle Class includes cars up to 2500cc allowing the Triumph 2000/2500, Rover P5 & P6, Rover SDi, Vauxhall Cavalier & Victor to trade paint with one another.
The Overs allows anything over the 2500cc limit including Jaguar Mk 2, Mk 10, XJ6, Rover P5 & SDi, Toyota CROWN, Volvo 240 and Granada Mk 1’s.
Yes it’s an opportunity to see some of the best against maybe some of not the best models from a long gone era when we all wore flared trousers, had long hair and watched Top of The Pops on a Thursday Night! Of course, Race fans can enter into the spirit of the occasion and dress in accordance if they so wish to add that extra little atmosphere!
If you own a pre-1979 vehicle, bring it along with you for our Classic Car Show. Classic Car drivers get free entry, so long as you bring a full paying passenger. You could also end the day by taking one of our Showmanship Trophies back home with you. Crash Cavalcade is all about putting on a show and all of the drivers that come along understand that. To pick up one of our trophies you don't need to win but just be entertaining instead! We're talking period correct team wear, smart looking cars, unusual cars and moments of the day. We will also be awarding the classic car show on period correct drivers, unusual cars and car presentation. Every vehicle is eligible and the awards will be judged by our commentary team (i.e. me!) and Race Directors!
Showmanship Trophies -
Race Cars • Best Appearing Team • Best Presented Car • Driving of the Day • Moment of the Day • Most Unusual Car
Classic Car Show • Best Appearing Driver • Best Presented Car • Most Unusual Car
