Hi Guys!!!
Here we have for sale my reliable daily driver.
The car is a VW Polo 6n with a few modifications. The engine is a basic 1.4, 8v (cheap to tax and insure!) - Currently covered 116,500. It has been maintained and serviced regularly via myself during my past 4 years of ownership (I worked a Revolution Motorstore - Tyne and Wear, utilising their facilities, so you may well recognise the car from there if you're local). Its a great looking little car so if retro is your thing, this may well be a good project for you.
The Good Bits:
Here is a list of modifications carried out to the Polo:
*16V Front bumper, with grills and a very rare lower Seat Ibiza Sport front lip splitter
*16V Rear bumper from 6N2 Polo skinned onto OE 6N rear bumper
*6N2 Genuine Hella Rear Lights modified to fit 6N
*The Tailgate has been smoothed to give the appearance of a 6N2 tailgate however this needs a bit of attention. The OE number plate recess has began to crack due to the bumpy ride nature of coilovers. I would recommend this be welded in future and not skimmed as is now.
*De-Badged front grill
*Staggered Genuine Porsche 944 Teledial 15" wheels painted in Gunmetal Grey (a bit of road rash but nothing too major)
* Brand New Nankang AS-1 165/45/15 tyres (2 are currently fitted to the rear wheels, two will come with the car to be fitted when required)
*Coilover Suspension Fitted
*4 Degree's negative camber dialed in for rear tyre/wheel clearance.
*LED Side Lights, side markers (wing indicators) and number plate lights
*HID Head Lights fitted. These are the H4-2 Kit that wires directly to the battery and gives both dipped and high beam coverage instantly. I opted for the 4500k colour range (I hate the Chavvy Blue ones).
*Multi-Lock Gear security system
Recent Maintenance.
Last year the car had the following carried out at my previous place of work (Revolution Motorstore)
*Ignition Coil Pack
*HT Leads
*Spark Plugs
*Distributor Cap and Arm
*Rear Brake Cylinders
*Pagid Rear Shoes
*Pagid Front Discs
*Pagid Front Pads
*Front Wheel Bearings (Which were an absolute pain to fit)
*Rear Wheel Bearings
*Fluid Change (oil, brake fluid etc..)
The car will actually come with a brand new SACH's clutch kit - The car is not in need of a clutch to be fitted now - please let me put your mind at rest now..... I bought this kit as a result of a nasty whirling noise - this was eliminated when i replaced all four wheel bearings last year so never felt the need to fit the kit. So this will be ready for the new owner as and when he/she deems it necessary.
The Bad Bits:
After-all, most 1990's cars now has something - it sure isn't in showroom condition. Cosmetically the car is in need of some TLC. There's a few scratches here and there and the car is starting to break out in a few rust patches (these have been photographed and posted in the add for you to check). the front drivers arch, the drivers sill and the rear arches are showing signs of rust (not bad but it is there). The lacquer is pealing on the wing mirrors but these can easily be vinyled cheaply to cover/protect.
I suspect the drivers side rear top mount bush has gone. The car bangs (thanks to the coilovers). A new top mount bearing bush will cost you max £6+VAt from the likes of Euros.....
I believe one of the front Pagid discs have warped as the car vibrates when braking (not much at all from usual speeds however when exiting a motorway you'll notice the vibration from those kinds of speeds). Again not an expensive fix, I replaced these last year for £30 the pair - Again from Euro Car Parts - Albeit you may wish to try a different brand as these have only lasted a year :/
So to sum up the bad bits, she isn't perfect but she is a cheap and cheerful car to work on and I have reflected these issues in what I believe to be a very fair price for the car. I would love to keep her and drop a 1.8t in it but having three cars is silly and I just simply wouldn't find the time to do it.
I have been as honest as I can regards the car and its condition. Its successor has already arrived and as a result I'm after a quick sale and priced the car to SELL - I WILL NOT break the car - don't have the time or the space so if you fancy the bits for your own - buy the whole thing
The car has a valid MOT that will run out in November. It has always been insured as a Modified car , listing every mod via Adrian Flux Modified.
I'm asking a very reasonable price of £499 but I'm open to offers. The car is based in Whitely Bay, Tyne and Wear.
Please give me a shout on - 0 double seven 17 8 double three 170 if your genuinely interested.
Kind Regards
Adam
