I can't believe I only found this now. I have a 1986 190d, and it has allot of same problems.
Well done on the repairs. Top work!
If you don't mind me asking, where did you get the repair panels? particularly the sill pieces. I need to get some for mine.
Thanks!

I have been hiding on Mercedes-190 for the last 15 months or so but after finding this fourm thought it was also suited on here too. The company I got the cills from was this one www.carz2.co.uk/mercedes-benz-190-w201-198210-to-199308-3511-15471-c.aspThey have more available now than they did before, I am considering buying a few bits in anticipation of my other 190 needing them as they seem reasonably priced.

When we started we didn't realise you could get all these repair panels and the link I posted didn't have as wide an offering. My advice would be to spend the money on the repair panels where you can and if you can't get the part you need find someone breaking a 190 and ask if you can cut out the piece you need to save time and effort making a part.
That's what we have learnt and it would have sped up the project.
Good luck when you do it and the sooner the better!

So the car has been to the engine tuners to get an ECU installed and set up on their dyno. Here is a link to their Facebook page showing the dyno run. www.facebook.com/dynotechtuningripley/videos/556572044500827/The car is producing 234BHP & 237 ftlb of torque on stock engine and boost, the upgrades are the larger inter cooler, ECU and can't be filter so not a huge amount for a decent power output.

Good evening guys, Here is the latest on my car. It is now on the road but here are the latest photos to show the progress. After sanding and preparing the body kit and various panels it was time to start spraying for the last time. After that it was time to fit them back on to the car. We have seen that most people in their threads have glued the arch pieces back on but we want to be able to remove them to inspect the car for rust every couple of years so we drilled, tapped and inserted threaded bar in to the mounting holes and drilled the wings in line with the original design and fit. This did cause a few more headaches when trying to align the pieces on the car and determine where to drill but we managed to sort it. Rear bumper fitted Front bumper fitted Spoiler fitted One of the arch pieces And as of yesterday I took it for its MOT which it passed and even got some positive comments from the tester! I have put 40 miles on the clock and so far all is well. The geometry needs setting up so it doesn't feel as planted as it should but none the less its enough to carry out the shakedown and in 1 or 200 miles I will get it back in the air and go over all the nuts and bolts to make sure they are still tight. The launch control feature is pure YOBO but doesn't fail to put a smile on my face and the noise, power and torque is demonic. Now it is just a case of more time detailing the car. Here is a link of the launch control in action , enjoy!

Completely missed this build, great job!
Any further plans on the engine? Surely, it must be possible to hit 300hp with some more mods.

Thanks!
So we have met our 'stage 1' target which was to get the car running and on the road.
Stage 2 will probably involve removing the supercharger and putting a turbo on. The SC takes around 30bhp to operate so even if we put a turbo on and boosted it the same we should be in the realms of 270bhp but when the time comes the minimum we are after is 300 with a max of 350 as it will be used mostly on the road.
I also need to research the injectors etc to see if they can deliver the required fuel or if they need upgrading.
The plan for the rest of this year is to drive the car and tune the handling and usuall niggles and get to some shows.
