I have recently taken the front (only front discs) apart on my Hillman to tidy them up and paint them. While they were apart I thought I'd just blow out any cr*p in the lines with an airline, to which I found I couldn't get any air through it!!!! I'm guessing where it was stood for so many years before I got it that the brake fluid has gunged up? And if they're anything to go by, I'm guessing all the brake lines will be blocked! Anyone know how I can clean it out, what to use, etc.... Or would it be easier to just replace the whole lot of lines? Cheers Craig

I would replace the lot tbh, a roll of copper nickel pipe isn't expensive.

Hi, it could also be that the flexible has collapsed internally.

What way was you blowing? there may be a 1 way valve in the brake line Personly i never use an air line to blow anything out a brake line, you just probably blew moisture into them, just empty then top up the master with fresh fluid and pump it through that way, THE only time i use air on brakes is if i have to pop out a caliper cylinder.

Shame you cant get different colour brake fluids any more, normally the choice was red yellow or green. made for bleeding brakes with new fluid a doddle,

Thanks for all the help guys I'll look at pricing up some new pipe! And I blew through both ways, I cleared the passages in the caliper casting with a length of welding rod and blew out the rest, which was all this old stinky gunky cr*p My plan was to blow out the gunk and clean it out and start afresh but seems I'll be starting afresh properly now ?
