I really didn’t want to do this, but with 4 cars on the fleet, 3 of which are long term projects I need to reassess and plough some money into getting my ‘other’ cars on the road. This is the best 190 I’ve had, it’s been 100% dependable and has ferried me and my family all over the UK and into Europe in the last 10 months.
So this is a 2.0 8 valve automatic, in pearl grey metallic with just over 93,000 miles from new, loads of history and a fully stamped service book to back it up. Runs and drives really well, I’m getting mid 30s mpg out of it on mixed round town and motorway driving. I took the car over to Europe last month, completed over 700 miles in 3 days through Belgium and France without missing a beat, loaded up with beer, wine and cheese on the way back.
The inside is clean and presentable, not immaculate but nothing a wet vac wouldn’t sort out. All the seats and door cards are in great condition and it has Mercedes rubber floor mats up front. I’ve fitted upgraded JBL speakers to the dash top and the original Blaupunkt ones are working well in the hat rack. I have fitted a full height zebrano ‘taxi’ centre console to the car which is in good condition. I have also fitted an extra factory sound deadening blanket behind the rear seat back which has made a real difference in the cabin. All the electrics work as they should and I have also properly repaired the wiring between the b pillar and the rear doors so the rear windows both work perfectly.
The outside is generally very clean, one or two minor marks here and there, two very minor areas of surface bubbling , one at the top of a rear sacco panel, another very small area on the leading edge of the bonnet, neither bigger than a 5p. The paint shines up really well. There was a little water getting into the boot last winter so I replaced the rear screen seal with a brand new genuine Mercedes item at a cost of over £100. The rear screen aperture was 100% rust free with shiny paint all around. I’ve fitted staggered fit 15” 15 hole wheels to the car with four nearly new budget tyres. I also have 4 stock steels and caps for the car with matching good Michelin energy tyres if you prefer.
Underneath the car is spot on, all the common areas are rust free. The floor bungs and drain tubes are all present and there is no rust or evidence of repair anywhere underneath. The car is completely oil and fluid tight, it does not leak or use any oil or other fluids. I fitted a new accessory belt and a brand new fuel pump and filter to the car in March. I’ve just given the car a full service with oil filter, air filter and plugs.
I had my local specialist fit a set of GSF 40mm lowering springs to the car at a cost of nearly £300 last month. When unloaded the rear is sitting a little high for my taste, the front is on 1 dot spring pads and the rear is on 3 dot spring pads so if you went for thinner or thicker pads you could bring the car up or down to your taste. I will throw in the original springs in case you wanted to put it back to stock.
The MOT is due 1st September 2015, I’ll put a fresh MOT on it for you if I get the full asking price. The car owes me well over £2k but I've priced it sensibly to sell.
All in all this is a very sorted example of a 190e with all the common issues dealt with, just needs a nice set of 17's on it and you've got a sweet daily that will only go up in value. Any other information you need please let me know.
£1650 or near offer.
I also have a lot of assorted spare parts that can be negotiated separately if you want them. Everything from tail lights, window regulators, switches, trim, fuses, you name it.
