Model: Vauxhall Astra GSi16v
Year: 1993
Mileage: 155,000
MOT: February 2016
Location: Wirral
Price: £1100
I bought this in April of this year, I was only after the bonnet from a car that was getting broken, but bought the whole thing. It was missing the engine, so I bought a late XE and a low mileage F20 gearbox from a Cavalier 4x4 and converted the differential seals. Late engines have the strongest block, it is distributor-less.
I have built it up over the past month with bits I have already amassed and stuff I had to buy. It is standard, apart from a Janspeed backbox, polybushed wishbones and top end shock absorbers and springs (that I can't remember the name of).
I've had loads of these since 2000 so know them inside and out!
I already have another Astra mk3 which keeps getting put off so this has to go. There's really not many left of these, the engines are brilliant and it's quite a comfy cruiser that I used to get 45mpg going gently.
If you buy it you have to look after it, not put the engine in a corsa and break or put a Saab engine in it. The last time I saw one of these was in 2010 when I sold my last one.
If you want to buy it, car is at CH42 1SD, PM me and turn up on Saturday or Sunday.
