These are great fun, loved mine, inspired me to stick with the featherweights.. I'm not familiar with the Cinq, did they do an Abarth version? The sporty one was called 'Sporting' in both the Ciquecento and Seicento versions (Seicento was a facelifted Cinq). These just got the standard 1.1 8v engine (base models of the Cinq had a 0.9 unit though - it's a shame they didn't use the 1.25 16v unit really). There was an Arbarth version of the Seicento but the differences were only the alloys and bodykit - either of which did nothing to improve it's looks, in my opinion..

Fiat 126 is an excellent choise. Great cars to tinker with , with back to basic engineering and you can go as wild as you like. Parts are readily available from holland , italy and Poland and great people in the scene. really helpful and not at all snobistic. A lot of them also being on retrorides. A later model with aircooled engine is the way forward. Then you already get electronic ignition , new steeringbox , better seats and a better gearbox. And your next family holiday is going to poland. Wich is a really nice country to go to with very cheap cars and carparts and a big as hell " maluch" scene. Just buy the best one you can afford. They already rusted in the brochure.
