The car now has a set of 17" BMW Style 18 wheels(bald tyres)
Hi everyone, I am selling my 1998 E38 735i Automatic transmission. It has 12 months MOT which it flew through -although it did get an advisory on the mechanical brake (due to the flimsy dust guard that is integral to the drum in disc setup). The car has covered 170000 miles so it is a little high mileage but it has been well maintained throughout its life. The outside is a navy blue and inside is cream leather with blue piping and seatbelts to match. Since owning the car I have had to change the fuel tank for a completely new unit as they are steel and prone to rusting after nearly 20 years of driving. It has had a new rear wheel bearing, abs sensor and handbrake cable (although ideally a new dust guard needs putting on as the old one has a bit of flex in it and touches the disc causing a grinding noise). There have been new boot strut dampers, a front indicator lamp and front wish bone put on the car as well. The car is currently showing the symptoms of a faulty ABS controller (not an overly expensive fix) but it may be the new abs sensor is just not playing happy; I am not 100% sure either way. The previous owners have seen to it that the car is very well looked after with too much work to mention, been carried out as and when it was needed. Along with the host of usual toys that a 7 comes with, this model has had the body kit and wheels from AC Schnitzer , the wheels are the Ronal made AC Schnitzer type 2’s they are 19” staggered, with the front running a 255/40/19 and the rear 285/35/19. The car also has a full stainless exhaust with Schnitzer tips, although one fell off on the road today so it needs a new tip (i did pick it up and it could be repaired I'm guessing but it is banged up) . The car is as you would expect for the age and won’t be winning any prizes for the bodywork with rust creeping in to the usual places like the front wings and boot. There is also a crack in the front splitter from parking on a kerb. Although I believe that the interior is in great condition considering its age, with no rips or tears it is still nearly 20 year old. All the electrical parts are working as they should be; the radio display is starting to loose pixels as is common for this car. This car has all the road presence you could ever want and the power to back it up, 240bhp from the factory I believe from a 3.5l V8 (sounds beautiful when you open her up) with loads of room to squeeze out more (they take to supercharging very well). If you are after a ready made car with no issues this car is certainly not for you, although if you don’t mind a little work with a spanner and some spray you could have yourself a modern classic that will only go up in value. I’ll be honest I know this car is worth more as a bunch of parts but I honestly think it is too good a car to brake for bits. So I would prefer to sell it as a project for someone to complete. The reason it is priced up at £1300 is the car and body kit I believe is worth £700 and with the wheels being as rare as they are I think I can get £800+ for them but I know £1500+ is too much to ask. I am willing to sell the car without the wheels on for £700 but you would need to bring your own up to get it home. You can contact me at any time via email - matthew@amlubricants.co.uk or phone 07456 843 154 / 01642 927 299 If you have any questions I have not covered or would like specific pictures taken please feel free to ask email is usually the best way to contact me during work hours.

Will you take magic beans? I have a 5er in cash to sweeten the deal.
Those Pina rims and interior must be worth 1300 alone.
EDIT: AC schnitzle not pina.
EDIT: is this not interesting enough to go in the proper retro rides for sale thread?

I've seen this about the neighbourhood. Certainly a head turner with some street presence.
Right up my street if I had the space, but I don't, which is a shame, so I'll wish you good luck with the sale.

The wheels have now been sold, so this car needs the buyer to bring there own, price is dropped to reflect that.

That car looked epic with those ACS wheels.
If anyone from central Scotland is interested in this car i have a set of E38 wheels sitting here to get the car rolling.
Also have complete rear hubs with new back plates, wheel bearings and ball joints.
