I've got a really low milage Golf GTI 8 valve and I'm thinking of getting a MK2 shell and swapping the bits into that as the MK3 is quite a bit heavier and not as nice looking. How much of the MK3 mechanicals will fit onto the MK2? I'm hoping complete front and rear subframes as they are in very good nick and the possibly the interior?

Seat front legs need chopping and re welding for 3 into 2. What mk3 do you have?

front seats need the leg modding as above , rears need messing with , never really seem to be right imo
front and rear running gear will fit but makes it wider track so depending on wheel choice arch mods maybe on the cards

Front engine and gearbox will but the drive shafts are an inch longer so you'll need mk2 legs mk3 brakes fit etc
