So I have moved away to London and I have three project cars and a daily and don't have time to look after them all anymore. I have decided to keep my Mercedes W115 and sell up the rest so here we go...
1984 Golf GTI 8v
Body - straight, original with only one small weld to rear of D/S sill. Some bubbling to bottom front corner of driver's door and a mark on the leading edge of the drivers side front wing. Fuel filler area, windscreen surround etc are all solid. Largely original paint.
Engine - standard k-jet 8v, runs fine. Just had a new water pump and ignition components, thermostat, fuel pump, expansion tank etc.
Brakes - new discs and pads all round last year. Pedal is a little spongey - needs a bleed or preferably a fluid change.
Wheels - original Pirelli P slots with centre caps. Professionally refurbished inside and out 200 miles ago.
Interior - unusual early orange stripe interior with good seats and door cars. Uncut dash. Spare door cards are included in the sale. Headlining professionally recovered and smart.
Spares - lots of bits and bobs including the aforementioned door cards, another 7 slat GTI grille and numerous service parts are included in the sale.
Heaps of service history to go with the car including PDI and original bill of sale, manuals etc.
Gearbox - has plate stating the box is a reconditioned replacement and it does not crunch into second gear. New clutch cable fitted.
Electrics - all major systems work fine, water temperature gauge is a little temperamental and so I have fitted a separate VDO gauge as a temporary fix.
Exhaust - complete new system 200 miles ago.
MOT = 10 months.

A great, original base for restoration or use and enjoy as is. There aren't many early GTIs left, especially in this kind of original condition so grab a bargain.
