So Ive been told to come on here to advertise my car for sale, I'm currently buying a car of one of the guys on here and he suggested to put it up on here as there are some like minded people who know what they're looking at/know what they want on here as opposed to the tyre kickers that are about.
So my 525i has great history, the guy who owned it before me was Macedonian and ended up selling it to my mechanic after coming across a few problems and getting frustrated and wanting rid, so I bought it off the mechanic. The reason he had been so frustrated about it is that the past 3 years it has had a lot of things changed (like all E39's do after 100k miles) the Macedonian fellas answer to the mechanic was 'whatever's wrong, fix it all' so!....
-3years ago it had a full engine rebuild including vanos seals
-2 years ago it had:
Brand new OEM suspension struts and springs all round
Bushes done
Tie rod/track rod ends
Anti roll bar & bushes
Brake discs
Probably more things that I don't even know about
The car has been well looked after before me and has been well looked after in my hands. It only gets she'll v power with some redex every couple of tanks. It's been serviced this year (1000 miles ago) gets castrol edge oil.
Oh and it had a leak on a coolant hose that was fixed by the mechanic after it started leaking on this fellas drive (hadn't overheated) I believe that was the last bit that went wrong before the guy gave up and sold it to the mechanic. The problems that still exist on the car are:
Drivers side electric window doesn't work but I can confirm that it's the switch/module that needs replacing as the motor is working.
The front right parking sensor is dead so that will need replacing. That's about a tenner
The outside temperature sensor needs replacing but I've already ordered it and will fit it before I sell the car.
One of the washer jet tubes was cracked but I've replaced that and it's all working fine.
There is a tiny bit of bubbling of paint on the drivers side skirt which the mechanic said is no problem and only aesthetic.
I can honestly say that this car is one of the most mechanically sound and reliable cars I've owned and have no doubt in it going on for at least another 100k before you need to do anything else. Probably just the cam belt whenever it's due again (a fair while)
DOWN TO THE SPECS:
It's the facelift model and its a real 525, not a 523!
Has the M54B25 engine (Dual Vanos)
127000 miles. Lowest mileage one I've seen for sale.
Full cream leather interior
Heated front seats
Dual zone climate control
Abs
Cruise control
Remote Central locking
3 keys
4 owners I think
Steering wheel controls
Automatic gearbox with manual Steptronic shifting
Folding rear seats isofix points blahblah
Electric mirrors
I can't think of much else, it's pretty much got everything.
REASON FOR SALE:
The engine is a whopping 2.5litres with 200bhp and my wallet doesnt full up as often as my fuel tank does. I do lots of town driving down to the shops and back and sometimes like to venture down to the countryside or down to guildford every week or so to go ice skating. Because of this I've come to the realisation that I simply cannot own this fantastic beast, and have gone for a diesel. I cannot stress how reliable and sound this car is, I know I've got it up here for pretty damn cheap but it would be really handy if I could have this gone by next weekend due to parking restrictions with two cars, and with tax/insurance etc. The Mot still has a fair few months on it and the last one flew through with no advisories so I can guarantee it will go through the next one.
I think that's it. Any questions give us a call!
