Hope someone can help me with this problem a collegue is suffering from please.
Her fiat tipo's indicators have stopped working, the four ways work, and all the bulbs light. So does it have a separate flasher relay for the indicator circuit? Or is it more likely to be a problem with the switch/colomb wiring?

I'd say switch or wiring, they only have one relay that does indicators and four ways on 99% of cars.

We had a Fiat Tipo once, I swear it did'nt like us! Same sort of thing happened to us with the electrics but I can't remember what it was. If it's got the digital dash then tell her to get rid of it! No doubt that will go wrong. But funnily enough the Fiat Tipo would be the only car that I want back, but when my mum sold it, the guy scrapped it 2 weeks later.

Common fault. Had this happen on both previous Tipos and also on friends Tipos. Cause is the hazard light switch on the top of the steering column. It's kaput and needs replacing.
Even though it is kaput it will still operate the hazards, but will not let the indicators work with stalk. Depends on the state of the switch but sometimes you can get the indicators to work again for a bit by turning the hazzards on and off for a couple of flashes....
Should be able to get a switch from the scrappy.
Screws are under the column cowling, and the switch unclips.

Welcome to the forum citivanvin.... a very helpful first post If that fault seems weird, consider aircooled VWs - the ignition seems to be wired through the hazard switch, a faulty switch can cause total electrical failure of all ignition-switched circuits. That blighter took me a while with a black'n'white copy of a wiring diagram, and a £3.99 multimeter to suss out!
