time to sell my e38 on, please read full ad I have tried to be as honest as possible. I bought her as something to waft around in after my daily car developed major problems last year, I will miss it.
m.o.t til September.
the car is in very nice condition for age, paintwork looks good and it gets a lot of attention especially when polished up, age related minor marks, worst being a very slight ding / scrape on nsf lower wing where some idiot touched it trying to park next to me, and a minor area on rear bumper, where another idiot did exactly the same! I don't feel it detracts from the overall look of the car.
interior is nice and clean, some wear on drivers seat leather as expected just age and use related stuff really.
the car has a very good service history, low previous owners, my neighbour owned it before me, and before him it was his company directors car so the history isn't shady. book is stamped up, all manuals and handbooks etc, I have carried out a shed load of work to it in my ownership to get it where I want it, I work for the nhs on all of kents ambulances, and paramedic cars etc, the maintenance is very o.t.t at work it tends to be at home too.
since I bought it last year I have carried out from memory
an oil and filter change with fully syn 5/30, plugs, pollen filters etc at around 94 / 5k.
fitted a new radiator, coolant and thermostat changed.
auto box oil and filter has been changed very recently with correct grade meyle oil, filter and new gasket / bolts and level checked afterwards to ensure its correct.
new rear suspension control arms.
new front shock absorbers.
new drive belt and alternator.
one front control arm.
4 wheel laser alignment at d&d autos ashford.
2 new front tyres
recent rear brake pads.
better quality dip beam headlight bulbs.
bonnet cable repair and 2nd hand catch from bmw breakers.
probably other stuff I have forgotten too, I don't like things being amiss. I have kept receipts for bits and bobs I can, I cant guarantee I have every receipt but I can assure you its been loved! books here for you to look at.
i commute to work through towns, a roads and a bit of motorway, i achieve 30 - 32mpg all day from fill to fill.
car has a in car phone (you will need your own 02 sim, but it works!), on board monitor, which has tv (needs digital adaptor, av in, even a fax port! electric front seats with drivers memory function, cruise control, dual climate control, door handle lights, courtesy lights everywhere, audio controls on steering wheel, elec one touch windows all round etc etc. very nice indeed.
everyone who has come in it loves it, women love it too if that's your thing, it really surprised me how people treat you when they see you arrive in it, seriously, its weird.
bad points
ac needs regassing, hasn't been cold since i bought it.
it needs the osf lower control arm replaced, i had cured the 55mph wheel wobble that e38s suffer from, returned just before i stopped using it, found the lower arm has some play in the bush, cheap and easy to d.i.y.
sat nav unit doesn't work
typical pixel fade on instrument cluster, comes and goes. they all do it.
car is on sorn as ive been using my bike for a few months now, so test drives will have to be done through your own insurance.
hope this has covered everything, strictly sold as seen.
PLEASE NOTE car has just had a new ignition switch fitted as old one was failing, she now starts 1st time every time.
thanks
