Ex-Wendy Wools Reliant Kitten V8 Special Saloon car, eligible for CSCC Special Saloons.
I bought this needing a fair bit of work back in 2010, recommisioned it and have since raced it sporadically in CSCC Special Saloons and RAF Motorsports Association races. Unfortunately my job has changed and I no longer seem to have any time to work on the car, so I've decided to sell hoping to find a new owner who has time to take this beast on track!
Spec:
Spaceframe chassis
Graham Nash-built 4.0l Rover V8 on quad Dellorto carbs - 311bhp/289lbft
Lotus Sunbeam ZF gearbox
Jag brakes and running gear inc Powerlok LSD
3x sets of custom wheels (slicks/wets/List 1B Kumho V70s) and a spare set of brand new Michelin slicks
Since owning the car I have refurbished the brakes, replaced the cooling system inc a custom Allisport radiator, replaced the exhaust with a custom-built stainless one (££££), replaced the headgaskets as a precaution, repainted the chassis and running gear, replaced the suspension with Protechs supplied by Procomp Motorsport, bought the custom wheels, and otherwise spent an awful lot of money.
Coming with the car will be moulds for the front end and rear wings, all the spares I have accumulated, and two thick folders of history and receipts dating back to 1984. The car was originally built by a chap called Neil Walker (who I believe now works for Radical), and was then campaigned by Brian Scholey for a number of years in the Lynton Trailers Sports Saloon Car Challenge. After that it went to the south-west and then northern Scotland, taking part in speed/hillclimb events, before I bought it and put it back on track.
The car will need a little work to get back on track, and due to work/moving house/getting married, has been in my garage on stands for the last 18 months hence the reason for sale. I also have a single-axle Woodford trailer with tyre rack that I had custom-built for the Kitten (as it is 6ft 6" wide!) that I would also be prepared to sell by separate negotiation, and only with the Kitten. Please get in touch via email if you need any more information or pictures. The car is 10 mins from King's Lynn in Norfolk if you would like to view.
