Nice easy night... The dogleg panel responded nicely to a short conversation with a piece of hardwood and a mini sledge. The gap is gone and the lines match. Bit of John Deere green paint to protect the bits that won't be seen and I am ready to weld it on for good. But not tonight. Not hearing the welding Muse, so a pint of Stella and a good sweep-up will do.    |

Ask and thou shalt receive... Have had three straight days to work on the car. I need to have it on its wheels so that I can roll it off the frame jig and put another project up there. The car is sitting on the suspension supported by threaded rod to establish the ride height. The good news is that with the rods adjusted symmetrically side to side, the ride height is 7" along the pinch weld just as I calculated. 1" up or down is easily achieved without compromising the geometry. The front end is jut dropped in place. Needs to be properly fitted at the front so that the front drops another half inch. The rear is more indicative of the tire to arch fit at this point.   Plenty of room for the accessory giblets  |

Thats better! Looks absolutely great. Always admired these cars and the work you have done to this to bring it back and upgrade it is amazing. Keep at it and don't let the other project going on the spit take up too much of your time.

It's got to be tempting to get some steels in the same size and offset as the eventual wheel choice that'll accept the Volvo hubcaps for maximum sleeper points. Possibly a set of Miata alloys too just to confuse people.

See, I ain't dead yet! And even when I am not working on the Molvo, I am still on the case. The good news is that I found a header that will clear the steering column.  The bad news is that it is seriously ugly and I don't know what it is from. Hopefully the tag on the front tube contains some information. If I can identify what car they are for, I might be able to locate cast manifolds which I would prefer anyways. Regardless, good to have another build challenge retired in principle. I thought I was going to be building a header. |
