Hi,
I'm faced with the following dilemma on my Mk1 Granada coupe:
My rear window has a heater element on it (the fragile copper looking bars on the inside we all know). On both sides there is a larger copper surface that a connector is adhered/soldered to. This connector is where it connects to the wiring loom.
On one side this connector has come off. This means the heater will not work. Finding another screen is not an option at the moment.
Anyone have an idea on how to fix this?? In situ!
I'm wondering if a soldering gun would work. I could pre tin the separated connector and then heat up the copper mating surface and then try and join the two... I'm worried the screen might break with the added heat in such a small spot. As it is in situ a flame type soldering action is out of the question.
Glueing it in place with conductive glue is usually not a long term solution either.
I'd appreciate any tips.
