Seems to me that new people are signing up just to sell their car. Is there not somewhere you can set it so that new members need X number of posts before putting a For Sale thread up?

Don't see the point in this personally. What if one of them is selling something someone has been looking for for a while? or something interesting? If its not either then it'll just get ignored and vanish. Personally I'd rather let them post just in case.....

So basically we've got to put up with an absolute poor advert simply because the OP cannot be bothered to follow the guidelines?

Far more irritating is people not editing their ads to say SOLD. Then you get people searching online for "Renault 25 turbo for sale" (for example), they find one on here that was listed 3 years ago and sign up to the forum with a single post saying "is this still for sale mate?"

If it fits the mould for this board then I don't personally see a problem with someone being a newbie, I signed up years ago to advertise my MK2 Granny Hearse and this board was recommended to me by a friend........I still visit the board and contribute when/where I can, this could apply for someone 'signing up to sell'......They may stick around and add to the content, chances are if they're selling something relevant they'll enjoy reading what's on here......I know some forums have a minimum post before posting a for sale ad, all seems a bit too over the top imo  |
