This is a 1983 RRC that's been bobtailed (not by me) to the highest standard I've ever seen!
What sets it aside from the others??
The fuel tank is a custom made 1/2 size unit and is still underneath and protected by a guard - not out in the boot like most!
The wheel arches have been cut and re-rolled so they look 'normal' - not been covered with Defender arches to hide hideous cuts like most!
It has Perspex rear quarter lights so it looks 'normal' - not covered with chequer plate like most!
The massive off road spec is as follows:
Stainless steel Guardian winch bumper
Champion 10000lb winch
Twin batteries
Twin alternators with switchable aux power
2" Procomp lift with poly bush and extended braided hoses
5x Kuhmo 235 85 16 tyres
Twin K&N air filters
Lamination electronic ignition
CB countersunk into the dash
Diff guards
Steering arm guard
Sump guard
Fuel tank guard
HD stainless steel rear bumper with recovery points and swingaway wheel carrier.
The winch solenoids are under the bonnet and there are twin electric fans with an isolation switch on the dash.
It has breathers fitted too so not far off being ready for wading.
When I bought it 3 years ago I replaced £700 of parts and out it through an mot which it passed with no advisories.
Since then it has done 50 road mikes and zero off-road miles!
The transfer box was stuck in diff lock and I lost interest so it has sat on my driveway ever since.
The brand new parts I fitted are:
Full service including engine oil and filter, gearbox oil and diff oils.
Front disks
Front pads
2x cv joints
2x Teflon coated globes
Front bearings
2x TRE's
Rear disks & pads
The Rangerover needs a transfer box and back box for the exhaust - I removed both from the car and our local scrappers bucked them.
Ballast pack
The car is fantastic to look at and has been converted to an extremely high standard.
It's located in Hull, you're welcome to come and have a look at it.
It will obviously need trailoring away.
I will consider swaps for a decent road legal vehicle.
£1500
