Back from holiday now - ready to show car....
This car has much of the glorious V8 sound/performance of an E55 but without the price tag (£5-8k) and potential bills. It is also much more understated in appearance if you want to surprise people!
Two owners prior to myself
279bhp, 0-60 in 6.7 seconds and 151mph top speed
Automatic 5 speed box with tiptronic gear lever
Avantgarde model with 30mm lower suspension and 17” alloys
Electric everything – windows, mirrors, drivers seat, cruise control, etc.
An up to date fully stamped service history (MB and specialist) with masses of paperwork. Next service not due for over 4k miles.
A massive boot with 70/30 split rear seats, luggage cover and cargo net. Over 6 feet long load space with the rear seats down.
The usual W210 rust areas are very tidy on this car. The previous owner spent £2000 on new panels, repair and treatment. The only patches are some surface bubbling on the OSF wing above the bumper and drivers door bottom corner. These could both be rectified cheaply and have been left as-is for honesty.
I’ve owned the car for 18 months (a long time for me), covering about 8k miles and just fancy a change. In my ownership I’ve had the following done at MB specialists:
4 new Hankook Ventus tyres, wheel balancing
4 wheel laser alignment
New rear suspension bushing
New front coils
Front spring mount replaced (a common problem on these)
Known faults – brutally honest:
Heater fan can be temperamental
Temp display pixels missing
Wear to drivers seat bolster
NSF alloy wheel curbed with some paint lost on the outer rim
BAS light has come on a couple of times during my ownership, disappears with ignition so not a worry for me
Washer fluid leaks over time
This is a fantastic motorway cruiser and I drove to the French Alps and back (900 miles/day, 3 people, bikes and luggage) last summer in comfort, averaging 28mpg. I have seen 30mpg at about 60mph.
Pictures – sorry it wasn’t washed at the time but it shines up very nicely!
