Here we have a lovely old barge for sale.
With only 3 previous owners, the last 2 being mother and daughter, it is obvious that this car has been well looked after.
This is a 1995 520 with the straight 6 engine and automatic gearbox. It starts runs and drives lovely although if i'm being picky, the idle is slightly lumpy but certainly not excessive and nothing that a good service wouldn't sort.
\it has the original alloy wheels and they are all wearing the correct Dunlop D40 tyres including the brand new spare wheel in the boot.
The interior, whilst not brand new is certainly very very good for the age and lends itself to showing the mileage is most likely genuine at 74k.
The bodywork is in good order too, arches are rust free. Panels are dent free although there are some marks commensurate with the age and I recall the ns mirror housing being cracked.
All electrics work in the vehicle and it still has the original load cover and pull out dog guard.
The mot expires in October and there is 1 key and remote fob included with the vehicle.
This would make a very cheap retro daily and with the condition, the price is not likely to decrease as these become thinner on the ground.
Bonus too, there is almost 3/4 of a tank of fuel too.

I have amended the price in the title to £795 as I feel this is tad more realistic. The interior has come up pretty well but there has been some fabric sown onto the original rear base. Not sure why but it's there.

My favourite colour and wheel combination for one of these and a good price too with that low mileage. If my commute wasn't as long as it currently is then I'd be very tempted ( especially as I drive past Thame every day ). GLWTS

Thanks bud. To be honest the more I drive it the more I get tempted to keep it. If my lexus sells first then this will be staying put and I shall drop it a little and sort interior out so it's a real nice place to be.

Sure does. Will look even better with badges back on wheels and removed from wings, will even try to find petrol flap as i'm not 100% sold on the colour match

Ok, rather than send various pm's I will update the thread here. The car has a slight issue with starting, takes a few seconds of cranking over. i had initially hoped the service would sort this. It hasn't. After a lot of research it would seem the fuel pump is at fault so I have ordered a brand new one which I hope will be with me monday and fitted on monday evening.
Once this is fitted I will update the thread accordingly. I would rather sell the car with no mechanical faults so the earliest it will be available is tuesday. Also, the price will now be non negotiable which I think is still more than fair as you will have peace of mind motoring.

So this is currently still available. I have Fitted a brand new fuel pump and it has not changed the starting issue. It really isn't all that bad. Will always start within 3 seconds. I have also just put it through a fresh mot so as of today it has a full year.
And the good bit, the price is still the same £795!

Hi I'm interested, can I ask a couple of things please? How many horsepower, what fuel consumption, does it use normal tyre sizes or some expensive metric ones? thanks Jerry and is it SOHC or DOHC? After a quick look on wiki,I think it is DOHC with the variable valve timing which could be responsible for your idle issue?

Hi Jerrytug. It has 148 odd bhp, well when it was new that was what it had. MPG I am not really sure as i'm not one for worrying about those kinds of things. It's a lot better than my gs300 and not as good as my 318d if that is of any help. it currently has the tyres it would have had from new so yes they are metric but they have very good tread so will not require replacing for a long time yet and also, there would be no reason you could not simply fit some modern tyres to the alloys. Lastly, yes it is a DOHC straight 6 and they use vvt but its commonly called vanos on bmw engines. It is entirely possible that it's the cause but for now it isn't a massive issue so I am using the car as a daily and it is perfectly useable.
Regards Gareth
