Hello, and welcome to the listing for my 1993 volvo 850. this is the first generation of 850 with the larger front headlights and square rear light assemblies. It also has the first generation buttons in the cabin as well as a few other minor differences.
This car has a 2.0L 5 cylinder engine with 20 valves. being the 2.0L it is the smallest engine that the 850 was sold with, however it still has the brilliant 5cl growl and picks up speed very well in my oppinion.
I'll start with why i purchased this car, was because i was going on holiday to the lake district (from tamworth, a fair old way) and needed reliable transport for 4 people, luggage and a dog. and with classic volvo reliability she never missed anything, and has been 100% perfect, i checked the water/oil /fluids every few hundred miles and absolutely perfect, not a drop lost.
Also i was very surprised at the MPG i've been getting, i drive with a heavy foot and she still returns around 30MPG around town! on a run you can quite easily get 45mpg or more, which I think shows how well this car has been looked after, this just 1 OWNER FROM NEW prior to me (ive only owned a few months) This car has full volvo stamped service history.
Overall this is very cheap (being a young driver she is only £300/year to insure for myself) car to run and use. she still has 4 good tyres, and long MOT (ill check the exact date and update this post)
since buying this i have really tidyed her up a bit, T cutting the whole body and such, and really it wouldn't take a lot to make this perfect, there is a scratch on the nearside rear door, that is not deep, and after a clean not very noticeable. also the n/s headlight has a small stone chip in it (i think it would still pass an MOT like that but I'm not sure - new one listed on ebay for £25 regardless)
The interior is really nice, only mark is the driver's seat bolster is just starting to crack (leather part) but its very minor - especially compared to lots of cars of this age. other than that the interior is pretty much perfect. I have also installed a new KENWOOD head unit, which is really nice quality, the original comes with the car if you want it, however i only installed a new one so that i could plug my phone into it, got to have AUX input in a daily driver imo.
As I said before the car is very reliable, when in the lake district I took her over the mountain pass roads and she performed perfectly, even when a van decided to stop at the top of one of the 25% hills, she pulled away no problem. i believe we did around 700 miles in a week, without any problems.
being the "GLT" spec this car is quite well equipped, having electric windows all around (all working) front heated seats (working) nice 6 speaker sound system (working well) trip computer, headlight washer/wipers, electric sunroof (works perfectly) and very nice half leather interior. literally everything works on the car still, which for the age is amazing. I have just re-stuck the headlining on the sunroof sunshade panel as it was falling down and preventing the use of the sunroof, however now works perfectly.
Also comes with full size spare wheel.
I'm looking for £650 ono for this.
I think that's everything, but if you want any extra photos/information/viewing just get in touch, either on here or call/text on 07982 147 327
