Hi,
Mazda Mx5 Eunos
1.6
199k km on the clock
Very short mot (only just realised!)
I have my Mx5 for sale, as I am about to pass my bike test, and will need to get a car that is practical. I can't have two impractical vehicles!
I've enjoyed owning this car for the past 5 months or so. It came with a full tan interior when I bought it, however I have changed the carpet to a black carpet, and changed the doorcards to black also (leaving the tops tan to match the dash). I will get a photo of this tomorrow.
The car has been lowered by cutting 2 coils from each spring. Each spring sits in the perches correctly and do not come displaced once jacked up, so it is perfectly safe, and will pass the MOT like this. The exhaust is a straight through pipe, it still has the cat in it, but it is missing the backbox, and instead has a straight bit of pipe where the backbox used to be. The car is very loud, I like it, but I'm not sure the MOT man will (unless he's slightly deaf ).
The rear plastic window is creased and slightly sagged. I had to stitch it back in as the top right corner had folded away. It's not professional by any means, but it doesn't look too tatty, and it doesn't leak.
The car had an MOT patch on the back of the passenger side sill. I made all new inner, centre and outer sill panels for it. I then sprayed the rear quarter. The colour match isn't perfect, but it is a hell of a lot better than a rusty sill.
Tyres all have good tread. Decent speakers in the doors and headrests which I will leave in for the new owner.
The car is only being sold so cheap as I have just bought a Saab 93 to be my new (boring) daily drive. And the fact I only realised now as I was about to put it up for sale that the MOT is so short.
Bad points:
Usual dings and scuffs to be expected of a 1992 car.
Bonnet has had some filler in the past which has bubbled.
Paintwork could do with a good polish, although looks shiny in the sun, just doesn't look too good up real close.
Exhaust is very loud
Both windows do not work (snapped cables).
I have been as honest as I can with the listing, I just need to get rid of the car now however.
I am in Reading.
Please PM me for a phone number.
I may be open to offers if the car is bought this weekend, although don't try to get all Richard Rawlings on me and knock half the price off as it isn't going to happen
I will add more pictures of the car tomorrow, inside and out!
