A spectacular Alfa Romeo Spider Series 4 in show condition.
EQUIPMENT
Bumpers and sideskirts colour matched, tinted windows, electrically adjustable door mirrors, round iodine headlamps, adjustable headrests, electric windows, leather covered steering wheel, voltmeter, oil pressure gauge, rev counter, engine and boot courtesy light, analogue clock, power steering, FIAMM air horns. Factory Options: Metallic paint, seats upholstered in leather, Alpine 7618R cassette with remote and separate amplifier.
EXTERIOR
This elegant Pininfarina-styled Alfa Romeo Spider is finished in factory optional Grigio Chiaro, (code 676), and looks utterly stunning. A sleek, refined and definitive profile oozes Italian charm with design cues still apparent from the original 1960’s Duetto. Visually flawless thanks to work carried out by London based Professional Auto Centre Ltd to the sum of £26,777 the term ‘no expense spared’ is completely justified! The expensive black mohair hood is perfect and all glass is original factory branded Sicurciv items with the front screen showing minor makings. All chrome enhancements including the distinctive teardrop door handles have a mirror finish and plastic light clusters are bright with no fade. The engine bay is beautifully clean and detailed and the underside is waxoyled. Much loved.
INTERIOR
Renown for dubious interior durability, it is an amazing testament for the quest of perfection that this example has a factory fresh look. Fabulously appointed in optional Black leather seating with matching door cards no wear can be seen. The carpeting is pristine having been protected by expensive made to order Cocomats which also extends to the spotless boot flooring. Factory stickers can be seen including the boot lid colour code sticker and a now redundant Alfa Romeo tax disc holder with a period disc is situ. The foot pedal rubbers still have the intricate circular patterns clearly defined and the roof/handbrake leather poppers remain functional. A battery isolator switch has been installed in the boot to preserve the battery when not in use and an immobiliser professionally installed for added security. A fire extinguisher has also been neatly fitted.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
An in-line 2.0 litre power unit fitted with Motrontic multipoint electronic fuel injection is capable of running on unleaded petrol and produces 120bhp and 157Nm of torque. Expect a top speed of 119mph and 0-62mph in 9.4 seconds. A beautiful and original ANSA accessory sports rear tail box sounds glorious when shifting through the positive 5-speed gearbox.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Classic 6j x 15inch alloy wheels are unmarked and shod in quality Pirelli P6000 195/60 R15 tyres. Servo assisted with disc brakes offer powerful and predictable stopping power.
HISTORY FILE
Complete with all documentation this superb example was manufactured on the 10th April 1992 and sold by German Alfa Romeo Dealers, Auto-Kremer, to the one private individual, (Dr Alexandra Leffers), on the 7th May 1992. Maintained by this supplying Dealer up to 1996 when it arrived in the UK on the 20th November 1996 with 39,386 miles. Enthusiast owned since being UK registered this example was subject to an extensive restoration programme in 2010 commissioned by Ludovic Parayre to create in many ways a better than new example. Extensive photographic evidence of the work will reveal an amazingly sound and perfectly usable example in the first instance, yet invoices to the sum of £26,777 are included revealing the intensity of the programme. Impeccably maintained since with fair weather use only. Previously sold by KGF Classic Cars in August 2015 to collector Mr S Mendelsohn who has decided to part with the car only having found another Series 4 Spider with just one owner from new and 8,000 miles!
All handbooks, spare keys and Alfa Spider paraphernalia are included. A tailor made A4 folder with a bespoke Alfa spine contains all the documentation neatly subdivided in appropriate sections. A welcome return to KGF Classic Cars of this exceptional example, ready for the next discerning enthusiast.
MOT February 2017, HPI clear.
