For sale a genuine piece of Ford history.
2 litre OHC sierra estate in cream, 71000 miles with history, 3 owners, last owner since 1996. This car has been stood in a garage for the last 4 years, it has never been welded and is still structually solid. The only welding it MAY need for MOT are 2 small 5p size holes in the near side sill. The rest of the sills on both sides are solid, no rot at the rear of the sills as most sierras suffered from just the age related rust. The condition of the car is described as fantastic for the age of the car, some rust on a couple of the doors and surface rust on one rear arch and some of the suspension components but again no rot. The chassis and floors are almost as good as new, the inner sills are solid. The interior is almost mint with no signs of wear on the seats, the dash is cracked as usual on old sierras, the rear tailgate internal trim is also cracked.
The car starts and drives well, the brakes all work well, 5 speed gearbox is silky smooth. The car is fitted with power steering which works as it should. Engine has no smoke and runs perfect with only a slight OHC rattle, tappets need adjustment to make it perfect.
No damage to any panel on the car or to the bumpers. Under the bonnet the good condition continues with no major areas that need addressing. Radiator etc all good. Just had timing belt replaced to be on the safe side.
All the wind up windows work as does the genuine cassette player. The car has the original Ford steel wheels(13") complete with genuine wheel trims. The car still has the original dealer plates and sticker in the window.
This car would be a very easy project for someone to make into a mint genuine example. Even the original book packs are with it although they have had the corners chewed by a mouse whilst on the shelf in a the garage. Shouldn't take a lot to get an MOT on this car.
Selling due to bereavement.
Will post pictures later this week when i get back up to the workshop.
Anyone interested please let me know.
