I think the fact that it is 3-phase puts off a lot of amateur / domestic people in the UK. That and the fact most people don't have the abilities to move something so big and heavy, let alone the room to house it.

๐๐๐ So I am not the only one infected with compressor disease ๐ If you are home over the weekend I can speak to Sam, maybe we come down and remove said compressor from boot of your car ? Thanks Johnny, I ambushed next door neighbour, bless him, was walking back from the shops, pint of milk in hand got collared for a lift, even managed to run the compressor up in my kitchen:) took a bit of sussing out as the compressor got quite wet before loading last night and filled a solenoid valve plug up with water, wondered why the lights went out when I turned it on, well the old compressor has evolved, the tank has gone on to do good service as a garden burner...... and does a stirling job

I've been rather quiet on here lately. Had a lot going on. Did manage to get the Rx2 out her hidey hole and into the sun recently Had a big move around and reshuffle. Found things, both good and bad.... Had totally forgotten about finding these trims, new. That was a nice surprise The not so nice surprise is the front windscreen is cracked, it had a stone chip in it when I took it out,and obviously from the contractions and expansions of it due to temperature changes, what with it being up in the loft,it's decided to put itself back into kit form.Rear windscreen still ok.. All has not been well in Bravoland. It hasn't been for quite sometime. Following on from an industrial accident that saw a good man ending up in a wheelchair, things have gone seriously downhill. Given the fact that I warned the company about a year before it happened, that the idiot who caused it was dangerous and that he was likely to land up killing someone,it was a prediction that unfortunately more or less came true. The fact that said idiot has since shown no remorse and has never seen eye to eye with me,constantly going out of his way to make my life difficult, hasn't helped the company's cause. It all came to a head recently when I took a job into his section for welding, only to be greeted by him f ing and blinding at me,calling me parts of a females anatomy and then proceeding to slander my name in front of a full workshop, accusing me of various things ,(that were total lies), I walked out of there thinking,"You know what?", I don't need to tolerate this. I don't need to suffer this idiots verbal abuse. I waited,in vain for a couple of weeks for an apology that was never forth coming. It turns out said idiot had done a very similar thingto another project manager the previous day. Now,in any other company ,said idiot would have been called in for a disciplinary hearing, and there would be a good chance he would be told to pack his bags. This didn't happen. * So,at the end of last month,I did this.... Rolled the door down one last time, handed in my workshop and van keys, and walked away. TAXI !!! * End of negativity in this thread. Only awesomeness to follow......

Well JB,
It was a rave thing to do.
Shout if you need more abuse or for the kettle to be switched on.
You are a good man.
You will be fine.

Well done, no job's worth that sort of abuse and mental anguish. On to better things.

You did the right thing . In my working life i have realised that there are some people out there who think only of themselves and excusing the cliche - want to see the world burn .
We got rid of someone recently who had basically been effectively splitting the company up . He was also a thief , a liar and new how to work the employment system and doctors . For some reason the bosses kept him on but he nearly caused a meltdown of a ยฃ11M company .
Its just not worth it .
You have talent and I'm sure you will be better off somewhere else , its not like you will be short of work or customer base.
Good luck chap .

Chin up Johnny
It's not like you'll struggle for talent when seeking work. I'd imagine there'll be a long queue at your door no matter what their skill requirements are
The plus sides..... no more torture at work and loads of time to do more of the mundane bits on the car!

Well Done Johnny. You talent and skill set will soon find you in a much better place, shame it ended the way it did but it was probably the push that you needed to get you out of there. You weren't happy when I met you so it's been a long time coming.
Can't wait to see what happens next........

^^^^^ what he said, from recent conversations I think you knew the future lay elsewhere so onwards and upwards is the only way to go! Something tells me you will be missed however...
Will drop you a text about something I saw this morning that made me think of you before I saw this update.
Positive vibes heading your way.

i promise this isn't meant to be all rse and smoke blowy, but its clear how skilled you are from this thread alone, as clear and precise as it is to point at the sun and say "that thing gets hot" also, unless you are doing a pretty thorough job at pretending you are a decent person (not being rude, this is social media after all ) its also fair to look at this thread and say you are good person. both the above reasons should have had the company bending over backwards to keep you, and oust the idiot. i know it doesn't always work like that in practice (loudest chick gets the worm and all that) but on behalf of me i would just like to call that person a complete ladies part, and i don't mean scoring the lead roll in mary poppins

They've more or less said it all so I'll just wish you all the best. Curious to know what you've got planned though.
Didn't the accident get the HSE excited? I'd have thought they'd have been after somebody to throw the book at if a man wound up in a wheelchair.
And it's funny how management don't listen... One place I worked I noticed an accumulation of rubbish on a gantry along with cigarette butts. People were reading the paper and smoking in the toilets and chucking everything out of the window. So I told the facilities people a few times who promised they'd deal with it. Eighteen months later the core of the building caught fire. Nobody hurt thankfully. I'm now part of the management team. I've bought a box of earplugs to make not listening easier.

Well that sounds like a great discision. But I can't fathom at all that the company never reprimanded the idiot and lets go of one extremely high skilled and very capable thinker.
Others have said and I couldn't agree more: your thread shows so much of who you are and it oozes skill, commitment, quality and care!
Be proud of who you are and what you are. Forget about the idiot and move on, Karma will have its way with him at one point sooner or later. I hope form here on its all uphill and you quickly find either new employment (your thread is an awesome CV) or other avenues to persue.
Now let's see some more of that awesome craftsmanship!

So I told the facilities people a few times who promised they'd deal with it. Eighteen months later the core of the building caught fire. Nobody hurt thankfully. I'm now part of the management team. I've bought a box of earplugs to make not listening easier. Hse got very excited and took them to court. Some clever blagging and footwork by one of the directors got a potential ยฃ650k fine down to under ยฃ50k by him showing that their risk and method statements where inadequate. Idiot lied through his teeth during the court proceedings and they dropped the civil case against him as everything is in his wife's name. They then went after the insurance company and the victim got a substantial pay out and rightfully so...๐Directors now fighting each other as the one wants the other one out and has his son and son in law on his side. They will run that company into the ground,so am glad to be out on my own terms ,in my own time, instead of being retrenched when it all goes mammary glands up in a year or so... Only actual assets the company owned were the Cnc machines,so I have,in a way, played into their hands,as they can now sell the machines and possibly buy out one of the directors. But with them closing that division down, they have REALLY played into my hands, but they haven't figured that out yet ๐๐๐ Exciting times ahead. Just sorting out all my tools and moving them to an engineering workshop less than ten minutes away, that belongs to a friend of mine. We have a couple of interesting projects on the go,and he is better set up machinery wise than where I was before. Got a good bunch of guys working for him too ๐
