PPPPPP....... You may know story ^
If you had realised there was no meat for the bbq you'd have known that you had to go to Tesco anyway, therefore there would have been no need to attempt to get the beer from the Middle of the room and so you wouldn't have knocked the charcoal onto the newly painted floor. You then wouldn't have thought of the bbq in the first place. Result!

If it can be fixed with a hammer, then it must be an electrical fault

Barbecue totally unplanned. Quickest way of getting rid of a slashed open bag of charcoal was to burn it. Weather not exactly barbecue weather, but that fire did warm up East Sussex a few degrees :-)

Sounds like a result all round mate.
Any excuse to burn meat where I live.
Sometimes no excuse needed.

People at work are wondering why I'm sitting here chuckling; mind you, people at work often wonder about me so no worries. A harrowing tale, well told, sounds a bit like a low rent Indiana Jones movie. Midas looks like a splendid fellow - shame he snores though!

Not what you want to hear that time of the day ,having arranged so carefully and having taken the day off today.......

Nearly as bad as having a courier turn up expecting to collect something that you know nothing about .......

my money is on the that pallet truck and judicious use of wood off cuts up the kerb-ramp
or you designed and scratch built a magnetised monorail using a reclaimed fairground ride from dreamland margate and old surface plates

No obvious pinch bar marks on the floor, so, lots of pieces of steel bar rollers, or put on a sheet of 16swg sheet, a bit of oil and a good push

Oh for heaven's sake, clearly mag lev cunningly constructed out of used pallets and pheonix feathers, strategically deposited before the beginning of time to be just below the surface of the drive and the shed just for this precise moment. Easy peasy

At a quick glance,it doesn't look too bad. Needs a good clean to start off with. Mostly complete. Needs new belts which is pretty much a service item. Handwheel in front needs replacing. Motor that drives the table back and forth no longer there. Automatic down feed missing a couple of bits.Internal grinding spindle missing, but think I have a lead on that. Still a bit of a mystery machine. Made by Jones and Shipman, can't find a model number and haven't found the serial number yet. Also, have never seen another cylindrical grinder where the headstock drive motor is perpendicular to the chuck Think I might have to put up a Google foo challenge picture to see if any of you lot manage to find any info on it..... If I could find pictures of the missing down feed linkages, that would be awesome.....

Sitting there as it does it looks like a big version of my Black and Decker valve grinder.
