Its come to the stage where I have not got the time or space to keep this and finish it off.
I have had this for the last 3 years and have spent a lot of time and effort on it but other projects and space is needed so its got to go!
So it is being sold as a RUNNING unfinshed project
1989 MK2 3 Door 1.6 Driver
Car has pretty much a full GTi spec
Big bumpers, fog lights, front deep lip, 90 spec side skirts, G60 arches, complete rainbow interior, black carpets and roof lining, smoked lights.
Pretty much a full gti spec
Also has cross hair headlights, de badged grill, Rare Kamie Boot spoiler
Interior is in very good condition no rips in the seats and they work as they should, dash is crack free, Roof lining is sagging and the sunroof panel does not open.,
Exterior is good for its age, paint still shines up nicely when polished, Needs a deep wash and polish atm due to leaving it unwashed for the last 2 years. There is no rust which is why I Bought this as a base car, chassis, floor, arches etc are all good! There are age related dents and scratches around the car, bonnet has some dents, sunroof panel, p/s wing and drivers door is dented.
Over the last two years the running gear has all been changed, The suspension has been changed to All VR6 items brakes, hubs and rear axle. So has 5 stud hubs, bigger brakes and rear discs. front has adjustable coilovers and is sitting pretty low.
A Audi A3 AGU 20v Turbo engine has been fitted along with a mk3 gearbox, G60 flywheel and brand new VR6 clutch. It is running standard management, decoded ECU, Obd Wires have been routed in to the centre console, Has A brand new Qpeng decat down pipe with a brand new OMP full exhaust, Gti Fuel pump, BMW radiator, Electric cooling fan with electric switch. Boost gauge also fitted next to the cluster. Battery and washer bottle have been fitted in the boot.
The Engine bay loom was all extended and the Engine bay has been flushed and painted (Does have imperfections but still looks good) I have fitted a carbon dipped engine cover which looks pretty good.
Car starts and runs, Temperature sits in the middle, but now the clocks don't work properly so not everything works on it. A tacho Converter was also fitted.
I found a set of Keskin KT1 alloys which I had refurbed and fitted with new red studs and tyres. Wheels are 5x100 16" 7.5j and 9j rears. Rears fit fine but the fronts catch the spats.
Right the stuff that makes this a project!
The engine starts and runs but does not drive, The gear linkage has been fitted but is useless so either needs changing or modifying. The Brakes need bleeding, handbrake cables need connecting, fuel pump needs mounting underneath the car. That's what I can remember there might be a few other niggles which I have forgot.
Overall not much left to do, someone with a bit of time will make a great car, the boot is full of spares and I will add what ever Else I find whilst cleaning the garage out.
I have the V5 in my name, owners pack and some previous paper work
This will need to be trailored away IT CAN NOT BE DRIVEN.
