Up for sale is my recent run around. I bought this off of a teacher at my school who's father had owned it from new. I was intended to sell my Skoda Fabia VRS to fund a house move but we have put that on hold now so I can keep the VRS so this has become redundant.
I drove it daily for a month and clocked up around 400 miles of trouble free motoring.
The car has the 1.8 GDI engine which I believe was also used in some Volvos. It returns roughly 40mpg, based on my man maths (£20 has got me about 120 miles)
MOT - Feb 2016 (advisories were: discoloured indicators, windscreen damage less than 10mm and front tyre edges worn on the outside)
Milage - 80,000
Cambelt was changed in 2004, so has been replaced, obviously been a while since it was done but I can see no real wear or twist in the current one fitted and for this kind of money I was happy to just leave it.
I have all MOT's from 2002 onwards and a lot of receipts and parts. It includes the cam belt, a new exhaust, brakes several times and tyres. It has been locally looked after at the same garage owned by the previous owners brother so is only stamped from the original owner (their father), at Mitsubishi, twice at 2,800 and 4, 825. Has been looked after since locally and you can tell looking at the engine bay how well its been looked after.
Mechanically its good, starts and runs well with no lumpy idle ect. Cable throttle is a little bit stiff but doesn't affect the driving.
Car itself has electric windows and sunroof, power steering ect. Decent sized boot.
Body work is not great however, no huge dents ect but lots of lacquer peel and general scratches but looks fine from a distance. Unfortunately one broken wheel trim as pictured.
Overall a tidy enough and usable daily which has been family owned from new and should give a new owner plenty of use.
Priced at £300 and located in Southampton.
