Both look cool but the Rover wins for me I think it'd be great to blast around France

Rover. Top fun. Mine was a teabag of rust but great for abusing. Plenty of space and a bit of oomph.

Aren't the 2600 versions a bit pants tho'? Certainly you'd spend the whole time wishing it were a V8, just for the noise you'd get when you apply la pied a la plancher (if that makes any sense my French is not good).

I think the six-cylinder ones enjoy a good old fashioned cylinder head warp-up fairly regularly, but they are very smooth and I am a fan of straight sixes, probably more so than the Rover V8. which always seems to produce remarkably feeble power outputs, (although it is lovely and light and makes an ace noise).

What do we think these are worth? Both are winking at me. I think quattro versions of these are quite thin on the ground now, and an ace driving machine I am led to beleve. This one apparently is in good working order with full history, though its done 150k miles and the lad just wants rid. I bought one of these off Ebay about 2months ago, excellent car, done 113k miles and I paid £625 for it. ;D Goes well, but not as well as the Merc Good handling, check electrics all work, Strut top mounts get shagged really quickly, thats what the clonking will be from the front end Parts are cheap from GSF and ECP, lots of bits are interchangeable from the Quicker S2 and 20v Quattros I am fitting Bilstiens and a set of Springs from an S2 to mine, standard ride height for the snow but a lot stiffer (The coupe is heavier as is the 20v turbo motor) The 20v can be fitted and be made to give 350+hp quite easily...... I`d get the Owdee but then I am biased ;D cos I already did

Based on the triumph 2000/2500 engine, in fact wasn't the sd1 intended to be triumph badged originally (scuppered by management bias) and the sd2 project was to be the dolomite replacement
