They exist, this was taken at Castle Combe a few years ago. > see above for image < Wouldn't mind a model. Cool mirror, especially as the cat approves. The model is yours. PM me a name and postal address and I will pop it in the post for you when I get a chance. Grizz, Thanks for the model, arrived safely today, and the keyrings I'll pass one on to a deserving cause (think I'll keep the C10 one). re the Portuguese Chickens, I've got one of those somewhere. iPhone has rotated image and I don't have time to correct it. We had a trip to the local carboot a couple of weeks ago (Corbridge NE45, wednesdays during the summer), it seems to be a mix of traders (same ones every week) and "normal" folk" just spring-cleaning. Some weird and lovely items, some bargains, some would be cheaper to buy new SHMBO spotted (and got me to pay for ) an accordion in a case. A lovely bit of engineering, working fine, for £20 ( I had a look when we got back what they normally sell for ) Aplogies for the pic quailty, I was playing with the new toy not operating the camera !

That is a bit special !! I love stuff like that, in fact, have been looking for a Trumpet (or other brass instruments) and a Banjo for years, just to have on display in my house. The price was right too.... Hopefully not a thread hijack, but only to expose it to more people. A copy and paste from my Tip Treasures thread. On the way home just now I saw this on the pavement. Went around the next roundabout and asked if I could have it. Looks like its possibly had some paper burned in it. Pretty much like new. If someone needs and wants it...... Free to collector at ME3 post code area. That is St Mary Hoo, Rochester. PM if interested.

Went to carboot this morning just because i woke up early, had no plans to go as I'm going to a mahoosive one tomorrow. Not many stalls there but i guess most are waiting until tomorrow. Found a couple of hotwheels, a pair of salt and pepper pots to replace the one i dropped last week (salt everywhere) and whilst i was looking at them something caught my eye. A Penny Farthing. Since ive been showing this to people to try and find out something about it ive had a number of people say it must be trench art, but ive got no closer to finding out what it might be worth, so ive taken my chances and chucked it in auction at 99p start. If anything it'll be interesting to see what it does on its own without having a stab in the dark and putting a price on it.

I'm amazed at some of the things people come across at car boot sales. The ones local to me are full of utter curse word! All the stuff that people can't get rid of on eBay. I tend to wander round a couple of them most Sundays and spend a good few hours looking around. I don't think I've bought a single thing for about 3 years!

You are just too fussy, you need to buy stuff for a project or two that you are never going to start, once the shed etc is full then you can attend the car boot as a seller and turn your treasure back to cash.

Haha I'm the least fussy person ever. Unless I'm looking for old tv remotes or VHS box sets of Friends then my local ones don't seem to cater for me hehe.

I guess this belongs in here, i got it from a sale years ago, dug it out the other day and reminded myself just how rare it might be. I did put it in the whats it worth section but i think it got a bit lost down there. Its a genuine Hills pressed aluminium number plate with Clubman stamped on it, and the British Leyland logo also stamped on it on it. My dad thought it was a showroom number plate, but someone else saw it and thought it was a motorshow plate as a dealer would probably make their own plates for the showroom. In the years ive had it ive never seen another one like it, and i can only find one picture of something similer. At the 1972 Earls Court Motorshow. So, is it as rare as I think it is? If it is then its probably on one of the other cars in the picture. Anyone got an idea on its value? Ive tried to think of a value for it but ive never seen anything to compare it to.

That cat looks just like my cat Fudge! How cool I thought he was pretty cool for the price, would have paid up to £1.00 for him. Some stuff just hooks into your head. Over at Katy's for the weekend. She does not do bootfairs, bit of a snob........ But yesterday afternoon we went to a bootfair about 5 miles from her place. Not massive, and no traders, which is a good thing. Loads of random stuff, mostly older people selling stuff they paid too much for 20 years ago when it was in vogue. First item, not photographed is a large, read efficient, hairdryer for £3.00 to replace the one that she had at my place for her visits, as the old one blew up. Happy with that. Katy got a paperback for 50p for her holiday in Greece. And she got a pack of thermal socks for her brother. Found this sign in French, which I do not read, for £1.00 but perfect for a random wall on the shed. £1.00 bargain in my world, ally backed as well and great condition. Same lady had this plate..... for £2.00 Why?? I hear you ask. Dennis' partner Debbie collects Christmas stuff amongst others, and this is outside of her remit, but last year I found her a very collectible side plate that I posted out, badly wrapped and it got broken, so his one is to "replace" that one, it is of Sandringham which to her, as a Royal watcher, may have some value. Just need to pack it more securely before I post it out this time. Another ornament, this time for Katy at cost of £1.00 She has three that I bought before for £5.00 and has them hanging around her house. Happy girl. Lastly, at 50p a piggy getting sick the morning after. This is for her younger daughter, who like many youngsters, has not realised that alcohol will always win if you over do it. Katy always makes her a little parcel of stuff when she heads back to Uni, so this will be included. I doubt that she will get the message, but worth the laugh. No bootfairs today though. Off to take little princess to lunch.

My local bootfairs have changed.
The bigger one has shut down, so as a result the smaller one has got bigger and lost its character.
Loads of buyers and sellers.
But it sucked......
Got a small metal sign, Oil paining, and some clothes pegs for Christmas cards.
But I have had a good weekend.

Cost me £2.00 in cookies and chocolate after being given it by Mickey next door, so not quite bootfair, but a similar trade. He was going to take it to tip, so I rescued it out the back of his skip trailer. For my garage to replace the dead one in there. Suspect there are too many bits, like the DVD or CD player, just need a radio. Just need to make space in rafters now.

Someone would give you at least £50 for that on ebay . Old seperates are great , my brother has our dads old silver chrome JVC amp from about 1983 . Still going strong and no matter what speakers we have put on it , it still only ever operates at about 60% capacity .
Cant believe someone would chuck that !

Cant grumble at the Sony stacker! Good reliable units, nice score! Had a similer deal a while back, my aunts neighbour had bought a new mini unit because their old Technics stacker unit with wharfdale speakers had started sounding naff, so aunt suggested id give them something for it. They refused my offer and just gave it to me. First thing I tried was new wire, and that was all it needed, great sound, cant see a reason to change it. I returned with chocolate and beer. Today, carbooting. No plans to go until I woke up at 7.30, so off i trotted. Some rough Hotwheels for chopping up, a Monster Jam Grave Digger for the nephew (until i decided to keep it), 2 friction drive monster trucks for the nephew, and a Scalextric sierra for 50p which is mint. Alien Legacy Mini Maglite, mint unused, batteries still work and are dated 2003. And some CDs. 2 nice large mugs. Cant have enough large mugs, and a Snap on mug. And a red glass union jack candle holder that caught the sun and looked nice. Some Teacs. Mint and sound amazing as my neighbours will probably tell me sooner or later. The CD's have been tested. plus a burger, drink, and entry fee. Still trying to work out how I only spent £30 Also bought some 6.5in speakers for the car, fitted them and removed them, already in the bin, they are poo. But i got them free with the Teacs.
