Why are our local bootfairs such utter compared to that? Hi, One of our local village boot sales suffered, according to local press, 'mayhem' when 'hordes of people' turned up because a large boot sale at Pease Pottage closed this year. The marshals struggled to control the cars and turned buyers and sellers away because there was no room and tempers flared. There is talk that they will close the venue because of safety concerns, people parking on the road, and consideration for the neighbours. Colin Are you referring to Rusper? It used to be an absolute jem of a carboot about 4-5 years ago, it was quite big, but most of the stalls were locals who were selling off their tat, which in most cases were quality collectables. I would come home with my car full of goodies, some for me, some for ebay, family and friends. Slowley but surley it got bigger and worse, to the point that I would struggle to find anything interesting and now i rarely bother going. I havnt been to Rusper since Pease Pottage shut, but I heared there were problems. I can only imagine what its like now.

When you have used the Citric Acid to de-rust, how to stop the rust re-forming please? Rinse in hot water. Then in Methlated spirits then dry under the heater. I normally give them a squirt of wd40 after that if the bits are not being painted.

So today the one Bootfair was slow, and only half a field. The second, larger one was filled with pink sh!t and nothing of interest at all. Still, I managed to buy this roll of upholstery vinyl leatherette for £7.00 or $10.00 and have it planned for the Blazers possible replacement Ford wagon was 20p or 25cents I still remember the Pontiac LeMans wagon from a few years ago...... really liked that. And maybe should have bought it, still, too late for regrets. Found mate craigrk a small Meccano bike and sidecar for 50p So home early. Haul included these bits. Bunch of Lesley Matchbox cars and trucks, no idea why, just needed them. Wagon and Mercedes Benz may be my favourites Big Union Jack blanket thing is ideal for rear of Blazer or a picnic, and at £1.00 a no brainier, already washed and hung out. Shell fuel Bowzer will go to St Louis in September for Dennis’ gas station. Cooler bag and six freezer bricks was £1.00 for Sally, as were three boxes of tea light candles. So nothing much but a few bargains. Meanwhile on UKGSER the guys are trying to figure out the possible replacement for the Blazer once it sells. Next job, cut hedges today.

Scrolled past that photo, thought "Jesus, that's a MASSIVE pair of Y-fronts!" Relieved to find it's only a folded-up flag

We went to the boot for the first time in ages this morning. The kids got loads of books, DVDs (we're so old fashioned) and the Li'l Un got some snuggly toys, The Boy got some dragons. Mrs L7 got a nice frock. And I got a properly 80s hand-suitcase to act as a storage thing for The Beryl, some rusty old tools (hmmm, balljoint splitters ) and an absolutely humongous AT-AT walker . I've wanted one since I was about nine. It's only taken forty years
