Something started off in my head by the Graphics/Graffix thread.
Growing up in SA there were a few car models that I knew were pretty unique to the country.
As I grew older I found that some were available in other third world countries and had been adapted to South African conditions to offer cheaper alternatives.
Please post up your examples.
First up, the Chevy Nomad.
2.5liter Firenza motor and a mix of parts and many flat panels.
Not many about anymore as far as I know.
I was in boarding school and Bennie Koen whose parents managed the Nkandla Hotel used to drive to boarding school in one when he was about 14 or 15 years old as his parents could not always bring him to school after weekends..........Talk about irresponsible parenting![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png)
Theirs was a dusty beige colour.
It was the centre of many adventures.
And guess what....
We all survived those days.
He used to bring stolen booze and we would stash it on top of the hostel roof in a hole we smashed through an air vent under the eaves. Good, no, Great old days.
