I used the guidance chart and judged this just falls within the retro criteria for the main for sale section on this site. It's low and it has some retro wheels. Mods feel free to relocate if you wish.

+ LPG converted, with a flawless multipoint sequential injection system. LPG on a car like this means you get better than diesel economy in a really fun, light, 16v petrol package. The tank is 25L, which costs about £17 to fill near me (cheaper elsewhere) and that gives between 190 and 210 miles no matter how I drive it. Car retains petrol tank and uses a small amount to warm up on each journey. You don't need to worry about valve lube or anything like that as the Lupos have dry valves. The LPG system has been in this car for I think at least 80k now and has not caused any problems with the engine. No noticeable loss in power when on LPG.
+ Let's make this really clear: A £600 car that does 200 miles for £17 is about as cheap as motoring gets. It's a similar equivalent mpg to the likes of gutless brand new curse word and it's much more fun to drive.
+ Lowered on some I believe generic brand coilovers. Car sits very low but is surprisingly comfortable, only occasionally hits bump stops on big bumps but really not frequently and I live surrounded by speed bumps. I would not normally run a car this low but it honestly hasn't effected the practicality in any way so I have not raised it back up. Handling wise it's really responsive and near zero body roll. Seriously go-kart like.
+ Comes with lovely G60 steel wheels fitted with sensible width tyres, two of which replaced in the last year, all have comfortably legal tread.
+ Electrical mods: Focal component speakers fitted and these come with the car, Pioneer bluetooth head unit with good bluetooth hands free. Dash cam fitted in front of rear-view mirror. Two decent USB power sources hard-wired in. Cobra alarm and central locking fitted. I'll leave it all in for full asking price but could be a bargaining point if you don't need any of these. Wiring for sub in boot done and included.
+ Body mods - side bump strips removed, some clear indicators and repeaters and a rear wiper delete.
+ Mechanically in good knick. Brakes in good condition and gearbox, clutch and pedal box all changed within it's lifetime (common failure for Lupos)
+ Recent new (standard) exhaust
Bad points:
Okay there are a few so I'll do my best to list them all:
- Car needs a realignment, I have no idea why but it has a slight pull.
- Some little rust bubbles, arches mainly but nothing serious. What you can see in the pictures is what you get.
- Body condition generally not brilliant, plenty of scratches around and an exchange of paint on the rear bumper from just a few days ago
There a few 'bodge' fixes on minor things around the car, examples include:
- Boot release not working, so long piece of string used from interior to open.
- Driver's (manual) window crank broken so bolted on with long M8 nut and bolt (pictured)
- Heater blower direction knob broken, so permanently fixed as pointing on the screen. Temperature and power still controllable and in a car this small, screen heating is all you ever need as it quickly warms the whole car.
- Horrible halfords seat covers, but good quality seats underneath that will clean up nicely.
- Being LPG, the tank is in the spare wheel well, so the spare tyre sits on the rear seats currently. I have a can of tyre weld with me, so when I need the space I can take the wheel out.
Reason for selling - I want to spend more time in my MX5, and wouldn't mind the space for something a little more retro that I can have a tinker with. With that in mind, I'm open to PX and swap suggestions. Keen on mk2 and mk3 polos. Not desperate to sell, this saves me money every time I drive it, so no silly offers please and it's not listed anywhere else as I'd like this to go to this community ideally.
