Time I move my Mazda MX-3 V6 on. GOOD BITS: 88k on the clock Old enough to go on a classic insurance policy. Brakes, clutch and gearbox in decent working order. Engine strong and bellowy. Interior complete and unmarked bar a slightly frayed driver's seat and shiny gear knob. JVC CD player fitted. GT Champiro tyres all round with decent tread. No warning lights on dashboard. Large boot with folding rear bench. Decent rear space for kids (although adults will hit their head on the tailgate if they're much over 5ft 8). V5 in my name (many previous owners) Full years' test Get you home tax if you decide to collect. It's a riot to drive - how many sub-£400 cars do you know that can rev to 7000rpm without issue? Being a tiny V6, it sounds glorious, too. Performance is similar to a MkII Golf GTI 8v. It has never let me down and has ferried me all over the country. BAD BITS: Paint is [very] poor. Roof and bonnet is more or less pink \ white. Some of it might come back with a rotary mop but it's never gonna be concours. Dents and scrapes (see pictures) Oil leak from rocker gaskets. Blowing exhaust clamp. I'm after £375, no offers. I can also deliver it for the cost of fuel and a train ticket back to Peebo. It would make an interesting hack or a good basis for a rough, ready and unusual track car.

Mind if I ask who you're insured on a classic policy with? If I can get cover cheap I'm very interested...

Brentacre offered me classic insurance on it without batting an eyelid.
I paid £320 for a limited mileage policy - although this will vary depending on where you live.
MPG varies. It's not great because of what it is - a tiny V6. Reckon on between 26 and 30 to the gallon based on how often you bring the noise. It makes a great racket, so you'd have to come to your own conclusions.

I'm already with Brentacre, but they've told me cars of this era are too new for them. I'll try them tomorrow.

Footman James will insure this as it's over 20 years old. Dirt cheap - sub £100 for my merc.

How bad is the oil leak? Got any pics of it? Also any idea if head gasket has been done and heater works OK? Only ask as my last one was butchered to semi work and the head gasket went. Oh and no leaks from petrol tank/filler pipe?
