He's probably trying to drive the price down because someone on the internet sold one for £150 less two years ago. Car is a total bargain and it's obvious to see it's been really well looked after. Along with 3dr mk2 golf gti's I feel these are still one of the undiscovered 80's/90's icons not yet too be scene taxed in the way anything old ford/vauxhall has been. Plenty reliable too and still drive better than a lot of modern rubbish, the Astra 1.4 16v I'm currently hiring being a fine example!!!

Cheers Sorry i quoted the wrong post, i just wanted to know a bit of history before i considered it. Reading it you mentioned a few motorway miles and then later on that its been 18 months since the last service by the previous owner so i wanted an idea of how its been looked after . Ive had a few of these now and seen one of them up to 230k which was serviced religiously.

Beautiful car. I really cannot see why 190's struggle to sell?
To echoes vaughant's post above, they really are an 'undiscovered car'. I have my (standard) 190E for sale at the moment, I've had one person display interest following an eBay advert and that turned out to be fruitless (as usual). I chucked a full tank of fuel in iit yesterday and smoked around in it and it is such a fantastic car to drive.
This is seriously cheap.
