Bit of a long shot but could anyone suggest why my Golf won't start after I removed the aftermarket alarm that was fitted? I rejoined any wires that were spliced into and now the dash lights come on and the engine turns over but there is no spark, could it be an immobiliser issue? Thanks, Phil

Sounds like it - what age of Golf? The trick with older cars is to break the LT line to the coil = no spark. If that is the case trace the LT wiring to see where it's been altered.

It's a '97. Had a look under the bonnet and I can't see any wiring that looks to have been messed with. I'm hopeful that it's gonna be an easy fix it's just finding someone who's come across this before.
